at high season it's not easy to get an affordable hotel in salzburg center but on expedia I found this one and I was very satisfied

Not air-conditioned so street noise an issue if room on the front side of the hotel. Room fan & open windows made for adequate cooling.

This hotel is fairly small in size, but ideally located; providing you with a short walk (20 minutes or so) to the down-town core. They provide free underground parking, and a good room layout. Anyone requiring a room in Salzburg, should seriously consider Star Inn Hotel Salzburg; as once you have parked your car, you could pretty well walk to most destinations.

The hotel is in a perfect location if you are arriving by train. The rooms are somewhat smaller than what you are used to in the US, but it was recently renovated and very comfortable. No complaints about the staff either.

Good place to rest. A little bit far from downtown.

We went to Salzburg and Vienna to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel was very clean with lovely staff but we were disappointed as my husband and our daughter emailed the hotel prior to us arriving asking if it would be possible to have an upgrade or a little something special. Though when we checked in we found nothing had been arranged, not even acknowledged, which was a shame as the hotel in Vienna gave us a free upgrade to a beautiful room with wine and chocs!! But putting that aside we did enjoy our stay. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice...all helped by being situated on the 6th floor with fantastic views of the mountains.

Good location however rather noisy in the nite. Only one fan that was not very strong so it was kind of stuffy. Bathroom was big and clean.

Salzburg is an extraordinary place - special. Wanted to go for a very long time. An amazing experience, incredible history, culture & organised relaxed place. Will be back in no time. Fabulous time all round. So much to see, explore and go to. Great experience that I will treasure for ever. Hotel I stayed in was excellent, very pleasant staff, helpful and clean & relaxing.

We had a nice stay at the hotel which was only a short walk from the beautiful sights of Salzburg. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The only negative comment I would have is the additional cost for wifi access.
