Welcome to SALVO STARRY NIGHTS where our goal is for you to experience beach house bliss. Perfect for couples, families and small groups, we offer a super clean, comfortable and well-equipped home full of thoughtful touches so that you can immediately feel right at home at the beach!

We are located in the quiet Hatteras Colony neighborhood in the village of Salvo in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore where you can hear the waves and feel the ocean breezes from the rocking chairs on our incredible screened porch. Access our beautiful, uncrowded Salvo Beach via a short walk of about 5 minutes using the nearby boardwalk over the dunes. View constellations and the Milky Way on clear nights right from the decks.

Stepping into Salvo Starry Nights, you will discover a spacious and immaculate open concept living space, vaulted ceiling, updated chef's kitchen with stainless steel appliances, comfortable furnishings, and 43" LCD internet television. Our WiFi is upgraded to achieve the maximum possible speeds here on Hatteras Island and our SmartTV has loads of channels.

We provide linens and make all of the beds in advance of your arrival. The master suite features a memory foam King bed and ensuite bathroom. In the second bedroom, you will find a Queen bed. The third bedroom has twin bunk beds. A large updated shower-over-tub bathroom is located in the hall, near a convenient laundry station with a full-size washing machine and dryer.

Outdoors, Salvo Starry Nights offers three large decks with sweeping views and a lush ground level with wooden patio, grill, fish cleaning area, large secure gear storage, large outdoor shower, and ample parking. For your convenience, we also provide an assortment of beach chairs and grilling tools. Our game-changing 1000lb capacity cargo lift makes loading and unloading a breeze! In addition, our stairs are excellent for the youngest and oldest members of your group with dual handrails and a comfortable universal tread height.

There isn’t a beach view from the house but the ocean sounds are amazing! The walk to the ocean isn’t far & the views there are breathtaking. You’re only about a ten minute drive to the Sound side which is a whole different experience.

Wonderful family getaway

This was my family’s 3rd time to stay in this home. It’s clean and comfortable. The location is great. It’s a short walk to the beach. The beach is not crowded at all. We love how calm and quiet the area is!

Neatly decorated home. Enjoyed all of the features and the quick walk to the beach. Personally loved the sea glass countertops as I almost chose that for my own kitchen! Thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation here.

A great place!

We enjoyed our time at Salvo Starry Nights very much. The proximity to the beach was fantastic. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay! The place lived up to its name as well – we could see the Milky Way from the balcony on clear nights.

Great stay at Salvo starry nights

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was as described and the cargo lift was a great help. As we are in our 70’s it is a bit of a walk to the beach but using the alternate beach access with the wooden boardwalk across the dunes helped. Thank you, George H

Excellent property nestled in among pines that is aptly named as the star gazing is awesome! The house was very clean and perfect for a small group. Beach access was easy using the nearby boardwalk and the automated lift for bags and groceries was super. We loved it!

OBX Retirement Trip

Salvo Starry Nights was perfect for our girls retirement trip. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable and we enjoyed the screened front porch. The luggage lift was the ticket and came in handy. The kitchen was well appointed and beds comfortable. The beach was beautiful and a short walk away. Joann was very nice with great communication. Last minute getaway

We stayed the week after hurricane Debby passed by. There was some standing water however, the owners were ready for it and had walkways set up. The water was gone within a few days. The house was very well cared for and in a great tucked away location. The communication with the owners was excellent and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Amazing property!

The house was beautiful, clean, and full of amenities that made our stay very comfortable. The throw blankets in the closet really won my girlfriend over when she was ready to relax in the living room. The outdoor shower was so convenient after a day at the beach. The cargo lift was so helpful at arrival and departure. It is clear how much the owners care for their property, and we would absolutely recommend this house!

Great, clean, updated cottage.

Entering, the cottage was bright and airy. The kitchen was updated and had vibrant walls. The screened in porch is a great place to relax and have meals. The only minor inconveniences were lack of available electrical outlets (we resolved it by buying an electrical plug with multiple outlets, and left it behind). Also, there was a lack of clocks, mainly in the primary bedroom.

5 Stars for Salvo Starry Nights

We've come to Salvo a few times now, but this was our first stay at Salvo Starry Nights. We found it an excellent property, and exactly as described. The location is great, we could even hear the surf whenever traffic on Rt. 12 died down. The house is very cheerful and well kept, and the name is very appropriate - we did enjoy the stars every night, it's impressive how many can be seen despite the neighborhood lights. We also loved the screened porch and ate there a lot (though we had some noisy college kids next door, but that could not be helped...) The outdoor shower is wonderful, and we were very happy to be able to park our car in the shade under the deck. Inside, we found everything we needed - the kitchen only has basic equipment, but we didn't mean to cook a lot anyway. We did use the outdoor grill, we brought our own coal of course, and tools, but we did find grilling tools there as well. We're very grateful this is a no-pet property and we've been so happy that we're sure we want to come back!

Fun family beach weekend!

My husband, kids, and me stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Kids are 8, 6, and 2. The property was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen had the basics we needed to cook. Loved the screened in porch - enabled my husband, who is highly sought after by mosquitos, to sit outside with me after the kids were in bed. The beach here is beautiful and walkable from the house, though my kids are probably a little more tolerant to walks than some. It’s a walk down the long driveway, around a curve in the street, and up the road; then you go through some trees between houses, and come out before the dunes. You wind your way through the dunes and then you’re there! It’s a wide beach, and there were definitely people there but it wasn’t overly crowded by any means. The waves were big and the undertoe was strong - we didn’t let any of the kids go beyond their knees in the water without an adult. But we all had a great time at the beach with no issues or real safety concerns beyond the precautions mentioned. We’d definitely stay here again. Price was right, the house was great, and the beach was nice. Thanks for letting us enjoy your cottage!

Beachy home in a Peacefully Quiet neighborhood

We arrived at the home and everything was clean and comfortable. I loved the colors in all the rooms! This home has a lift that brings all your stuff upstairs, which was very helpful! The kitchen had everything you needed to make a nice meal. We brought all of our food for a few days, then headed to the Food Lion for other fresh food. We ate out on the enclosed porch for most meals. We ate at the Froggy Dog in Avon and was very pleased with our meal. We visited lots of places during our trip, including Okracoke, Avon pier, Jeanette’s Pier, Mantao Aquarium and we stopped at beach stop #27 at night to see the Milky Way, which you can also see on the deck of the house! The path to the beach was very close, along with lots of chairs and beach equipment in the downstairs storage room. There is a outdoor shower which was very helpful when returning from the beach daily. The beds were very comfortable. The A/C was very comfortable when you spent sometime outside and come inside. It was between 80-90’s during our stay. My favorite was to sit on the deck in the morning with your coffee. So quiet just hearing the birds and occasionally the chickens. We had a really great time there! I just loved staying here for 10 days. I will definitely return next year!
