About this property

Gîte du Pigeonnier Causse Méjean

  • Located on the Causse Méjean, this historic Causse-style stone house has been restored to offer you the comfort and functionality of a modern home, where you can enjoy the sunrise over Mont Aigoual. A beautifully restored dovecote with over 600 compartments serves as a laundry room and storage area (deck chairs and a beach umbrella are at your disposal, along with outdoor games). Ground floor: Living room with wood-burning insert, TV, sofa, and a fully equipped kitchenette (dishwasher, microwave, etc.). Ground floor: 2 bedrooms, each with a 140/190 double bed, 1 bathroom, and 1 separate toilet. On the second floor: 2 bedrooms, each with 1 double bed (140/190), and a bathroom area in each bedroom, plus 1 separate toilet. Set apart from the small village of St. Pierre des Tripiers, the Gîte du Pigeonnier offers peace and quiet. It is set back from the main road, and children will enjoy playing in the outdoor area in complete tranquility (large meadow adjacent to the cottage). In front of the house, there’s a designated area for enjoying an aperitif and using the barbecue. We live in the village and will be happy to recommend various activities, if needed. As for local amenities, you’ll find them in Le Rozier, a small village 10 km away, or in Meyrueis (22 km away). On the Causse Méjean and in the surrounding villages, you’ll also find local producers offering cheese, meat, prepared meals, flour, honey, jams, beers, etc. Electric heating (billed based on usage—metre reading for consumption over 20 kWh per day), firewood (60€/stère) to be paid on site.
