"This place was right on the water. It was super nice, very clean and well maintained. We even had a balcony with furniture on it. Definitely would stay again!!!"

"This hotel provides a clean, quiet room, with good beds, linens, and pillows - that's the most important thing. Microwave and fridge in room is nice. Breakfast was decent including waffles, microwave breakfast sandwiches, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal. Front desk was friendly and helpful. But the property is quirky. It's an older building - the floors are slightly uneven, and one of the tiles in the entryway to our room was cracked. The building is built into the side of a hill. There's no elevator. The front desk / lobby is tiny. You have to navigate steps down from the parking lot into the property. The pool was cold and showing its age. But we got a good night sleep, enjoyed the TV in our room, and then were on our way to visit Spirit Mountain Adventure Park the next morning, which was only a few minutes away. So it did the trick. In general, in the future, I would avoid Duluth entirely - it seems like the hotels are extremely expensive in this area for no reason."

"It had an inviting look from the outside, not trashy!! Inside was clean and clerk behind desk was friendly and appearance was very good!! Room was clean, bed was comfortable!! But could use a higher stool in the bathroom and wanted to wash a load of clothes and the washer and dryer were not in where we thought but did ask so was able to get it done!! Coffee needs some help, maybe different water?? But did enjoypur stay!! A mother/daughter weekend!! Had Fun!!"

"This is now one of our favorite places to stay around the U.S. Being from Cloquet and my relatives live on this lake, it worked out perfectly for us. Every amenity you can imagine in the house! The hot tub was perfect! We recommend renting the boat and fishing! Great communication from the host! If you want guaranteed memories for your vacation/travels then this is it!"

"We loved our stay at the "Baumhaus" near Jay Cooke State Park. It was so comfortable, well stocked and absolutely stunning. I could have stayed on that incredible swivel chair on the porch listening to the birds and sipping tea out of your beautiful mugs for days. Loved all the bird details and art. Thanks!"
