Our experience with this VRBO began with a text with the address of the unit, entry codes, etc. This text awoke us at 4.00AM!
When we arrived at the apartment building, we were surprised to find that the elevator was not working. According to residents that we spoke with, the elevator had not worked for well over a year.
When we entered the apartment, it appeared clean and bright, but it bore no relationship to the photos in the listing; the room was sterile, no pictures, no decorative items to warm it up. The kitchen was minimal, no toaster or kettle, no cook knives, utensils or tea towels. The living area was furnished with a couch and TV. There was no coffee table or end tables.
The bathroom had no towel racks.
The bed had no top sheet, just a light comforter. There was one side table and no chest of drawers. We had to leave our clothes in our suitcases, which had to be placed on the bed or on the floor.
When we had settled in to the apartment, we were unable to access the Wi-Fi. The landlord sent a young man to help us, and he too was unable to access the Wi-Fi. After speaking with the landlord, he determined that we had been given the wrong user name and password.
When we went out of the apartment, we were unable to lock the door following the directions given to us. A passing resident helped us out by showing us what to do, and remarking, “He isn’t very good with directions.”
