About this property

The Bonaguil Lookout—a medieval enclave in the heart of the Bouriane Forest

  • Our holiday rental, “Le Belvédère de Bonaguil,” is an authentic 16th-century house adjacent to the fortified castle of Bonaguil, a medieval enclave surrounded by forests between the Périgord Noir and Quercy regions.

The holiday rental, fully restored in 2022 by its current owner, was once the summer retreat of painter and sculptor Manolo RUIZ-PIPO.

The house, terrace, and garden—all completely private and not overlooked—offer breathtaking views of both the valley and the castle.

With a total area of 80 m², the holiday rental consists of:
    - a living area with a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, oven, complete set of cookware, griddle, and electric grill; a dining table for 6 people; a sitting area with a TV, a sofa bed, and ample storage space.
    - A mezzanine bedroom with a double bed (140x190)
    - A bedroom on the lower level with two single beds (90x190)
    - A middle bedroom with a sofa bed
    - A bathroom with a massage shower, large sink, washing machine, and toilet.

Outdoor terrace overlooking the forest, with chairs, tables, and umbrellas.
A 300 m² enclosed garden on two levels with a hammock area and a magnificent view of the nearby castle.

Nestled in the heart of Bonaguil and overlooking the village (population 10!), the house offers direct pedestrian access to the castle (a must-see for the whole family!) and the many trails that wind through the forest.

    Pets not allowed.
    Non-smoking rental.
    Cleaning is the tenant’s responsibility.

Important note: This rather unusual rental features 4 exterior levels and 4 interior levels and is therefore not suitable for people with limited mobility or young children.

You can recharge your batteries in a medieval atmosphere and enjoy an exceptional natural setting in a region famous for its historic sites, vineyards, and gourmet cuisine.

In the region, a 30-minute drive away:
Gavaudun Valley, Château de Biron, numerous bastides; Penne d’Agenais, Monflanquin, Villeréal, Monpazier, Tournon d’Agenais, and numerous farmers’ and gourmet markets.
