Find hotels in Sahtryine from £27

The best area to stay in Sahtryine is the Old Medina, offering an authentic experience within the city's historic walls.

This neighbourhood is the heart of Sahtryine, characterised by its narrow, winding alleyways, traditional architecture, and bustling souks. You'll find a mix of artisan shops, local eateries, and historic landmarks like the Kasbah Museum and the Grand Mosque. It's a very walkable area, though some streets can be steep.

Couples often find the Old Medina ideal for a romantic and culturally rich trip. The district's charming riads (traditional Moroccan guesthouses) offer intimate settings, often with rooftop terraces providing excellent views over the city and the sea. Evenings can be spent exploring the quieter corners or enjoying a meal in a traditional restaurant.

For those who prefer a more relaxed setting with easy access to the beach, the area around the Corniche is an excellent choice. This promenade stretches along the coastline and features a variety of modern hotels with sea views, as well as plenty of cafes and restaurants.

The best times to visit Sahtryine are during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are fewer.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, which are great for exploring the city's attractions without the intense heat of summer or the cooler, wetter days of winter. The skies are generally clear, making it ideal for sightseeing and enjoying the coastal views.

For couples looking for a romantic escape, these shoulder seasons offer a more relaxed experience. You can enjoy strolls through the Kasbah and Medina at a leisurely pace, dine al fresco in the evenings, and take in the sunsets over the Strait of Gibraltar without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by large tour groups. Many hotels and riads also offer better rates during these periods compared to peak summer.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the milder weather, which is more conducive to outdoor activities like visiting the beach or exploring the Cap Spartel area.
