It features displays of authentic military and civilian aircraft as well as space vehicle replicas. It preserves the history and mission of this former base as well as those of neighboring bases like Beale (active) and Mather (closed) Air Force Bases. McClellan Air Force Base closed in 2001 and became McClellan Airfield, a civil aviation airport. he museum has over 40 aircraft in its collection from the fully restored, one-of-a-kind 1932 Curtiss Wright B-14B Speedwing to one of the last Grumman F-14D Tomcat retired from U.S. Navy service in 2006. In addition to aircraft, the collection includes many other historic artifacts relating to Sacramento's aerospace heritage. It also houses an extensive collection of historic aircraft engines. These include examples ranging from a World War I-era Gnome-Rhone rotary piston engine to the Pratt & Whitney nine-stage, axial-flow, bypass J-58 turbojet that propelled the SR-71 Blackbird supersonic spyplane. The museum's restoration team is nearing completion of a Fairchild PT-19B World War II training aircraft. With new exhibits opening regularly, the Aerospace Museum is a wonderful place to explore the history of aviation

Great place for a family to stay if you are visiting local sights

End unit duplex, tastefully decorated and fun uncluttered space for little ones to play on the floor even with glass tables they are all rounded edges so safe with supervision. The heating unit is very loud and may need a new filter but other than that well equipped and super clean. Hint for others we didn't get the entry code until just after check-in time so don't be worried.

Great for quick stay!

We had a great stay! The property was clean, located in a quiet neighborhood, and communication with the hosts was smooth and helpful. My family really enjoyed their time here. The hosts were accommodating and easy to talk to when we had any questions. Overall, I’m very happy with the experience and grateful my family had a comfortable place to stay.

Not happy.The owner needs to repair or replace several things.Front door handle is broken,falls off when you open the door.The shower in the master bedroom,doors are broken.Door handles in both bedrooms are broken.The house is not kept up,grass and bushes need to be cut.I was very disappointed because they said treat there house like it’s your house.My house doesn’t need a bunch of repair work.

I enjoyed everything except for the absence of a step stool to reach things above the stove area. An ironing board to use with the iron that was available. I enjoyed my stay and the location.

Not great, not terrible, just ok

The listing says "new" and the pictures look new and while there was definitely a recent remodel, not everything is new. The kitchen appliances and cookware all saw better days and some of the remodeling wasn't greatly done, but at the end of the day, we had a fine stay: bed was fine, showers worked, we cooked meals in the kitchen. Communications was essentially non existent, but then again everything worked out ok and we didn't really need any. Given my experience with other VRBOs, I had expected more / better.

great place with a few hiccups

The place overall was great. Just as listed and pictured. We ran into a few hiccups when we checked in. The heater wasn’t working. The inside temp was at 61. It was a cold and rainy day when we checked in. Message the owner she responded right away stating it takes a few hours to heat up the place. We set the temp higher and left the place to go visit family. Got back around 11pm and it was still sitting at 61. Sent a photo to the owner and she said it’s probably the battery and that they will replace it in the morning. This was fine by me. I then messaged her about the window leak in the hallway bathroom which was causing water to collect on the bathroom floor. She asked if I could put towels down and they will caulk it in the morning. Next morning we left the place again and came back to the heat working but they never came to fix the leak. The towels were drenched in water all weekend because it rained every day. Overall we had a good stay, just a few things that happened and the place could be a little cleaner. There were hairs in the bathroom sink and on the toilet seat when we arrived. Bathroom drawers were dirty too.

Belle demeure très propre. Très belle cour arrière par contre, route passante sur le côté de la maison et très bruyant lorsque l'on est à l'extérieur. Manque un peu d'équipement dans la cuisine.

Great little spot!

Wanted for nothing, used washer and dryer and everything worked well. The shower was a bit tricky but we figured it out. Thank you for having our family!
