Our balcony overlooked the cafe/mini market/bar which was the social hub of the village. By midweek in our stay, we were exchanging greetings with each arriving and departing customer. You can walk on stone paths for miles amongst grape vines, olive trees and smaller vegetable tracks. The vistas are unbelievably expansive. The village is extremely rural and yet all the Douro Valley high spots are within an easy drive. You must have a car. Although the apartment is also small, it fit our needs perfectly. And was well equipped.
