Cancelled on me day before
Booked this stay a month out and received a confirmation email shortly thereafter. A day before our stay (Christmas Day), I reached out to the host and asked if there was anything else I should know before we head there. Then several hours later at 2000 at night, I received a text message from a random phone number saying that the apartment is already occupied and that they have to cancel my stay. I reached out to Vrbo support with screenshots and they said that the phone number was not the number registered with the hosts account. So because of this and in order to get my refund, they had to verify the cancellation with the host before I received a refund. (Which ended up destroying any hopes of planning something else because €1000 was missing from my account and I did not have confirmation I was going to get refunded yet.) Horrible.
