This was a great place to stay. Good location to venture out from and explore the neighbouring county Galway.

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing. Upon arrival, the walkway to the apartment was dirty, and there was a dead bird near the front door, which created a very unpleasant first impression. There was also a strong odor on the main level throughout our stay. The apartment itself could use some maintenance. The carpet was old and stained, and the insulation was poor, so outside noise was easily heard from inside. The TV was not working when we arrived and wasn’t fixed until the following day. We also had issues with the washer/dryer. The dryer cycle did not work, and although staff came to inspect it, we were simply told that “it doesn’t work,” which was frustrating since this amenity was advertised as part of the rental. Front door can’t be locked and the doorbell outside doesn’t work. On a positive note, the beds were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was updated and well-equipped, and the towels were clean. Overall, while there were a few positive aspects, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and lack of functioning amenities made this stay fall well below our expectations. We hope these issues are addressed for future guests.

Exquisite hotel beautifully situated on the Ashford Castle estate property. The original Lodge was significantly expanded in the back with an elegant courtyard surrounded on all three sides by large attractive and very comfortable rooms. The entire property is perfectly maintained with a mix of original flair and contemporary art with the original building looking out onto a gorgeous view of the Loch. The food selection at the restaurant was limited but delicious. At least the steak and the market fish were. Service was also top notch. We took the walking tour of the forest on the castle property which also was quite lovely. All this for a very reasonable price, which included breakfast. Highly recommend staying here. I wish we had known and had more time to stay.

Was fair. Expected more. Not much help from staff. Breakfast was ok.

Very basic property. Rooms are quite warm, though fans are available. However, garbage trucks, recycling trucks, and keg pickups happen early in the morning and are VERY noisy, so leaving the window open is a challenge. The parking situation is aggravating, as nobody can explain the rules (we got conflicting messages). Overall, the property is fine, but I wouldn’t stay here if it’s warm or busy.
