The location was perfect, 5 minute walk to the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum, 10 minute walk to St. Peters Basilica, close to cafe, restaurants, market. The Trattoria Pizzeria Archie, 2 blocks was excellent. I felt I was really in Rome.

Nice place!
It was a nice place as it was literally a few minutes walk from Vatican City. The service was excellent too, we got everything that we needed. The only criticism I had was that the bathroom was a little crammed, but it was clean so we managed to adjust

A haven of calm amidst the tourist-jostle of Rome
Well, this is a bit of a curiosity! Sistina Vatican Rooms must, a one time, have been an ordinary apartment in an ordinary apartment building, which just happens to be very close to the Vatican. In fact, when you reach the address, that is what you see; an unremarkable apartment building, a front door, like so many other apartment building front doors... It's just that, among the buzzers, one bears the name Sistina Vatican Rooms instead of that of a family. For these two travellers, already jostled by the tourist hoards on the way from the station, the prospect of an escape into a world inhabited by ordinary Romans came as a relief. The experience didn't disappoint. Stepping out of the lift, we were greeted by Ambra who was as welcoming and helpful in person as she had been by e-mail and WhatsApp. No-one else was 'at home', so we were given a quick tour. There are two 'rooms' available here. The first one, the main part of the old apartment, is very spacious and would be suitable for a family. It faces the main street, so there's a little bit of street noise, but it looks lovely. The second one is quite small in comparison, a double room with en suite bathroom, fridge, wardrobe and breakfast table next to a window overlooking the inner courtyard. It's clean, sunny and beautifully calm; you'd hardly know you're in Rome. Simple breakfast, coffee & WiFi included. Don't be put off by the modest size; you're not going to spend time here, other than to recover from sightseeing!

I’m an HGTV Househunter’s International fan. I freely admit it. So when we were checked into Sistina Vatican Rooms by Ambra for a 10 day stay, I truly felt like an Italian adventure was in the works. And I wasn’t wrong. We chose a room for 3 guests; one with 3 twin beds. We didn’t need it but for 3 of the 10 days, however I’m so glad we had that room – it felt large, it felt almost like a little apartment. The bathroom was very ample and clean; there was a wash machine we didn’t use, but Ambra showed us how to use it in case we opted to and gave us laundry detergent; the beds were small but really quite comfortable with a couple pillows each. The towels were fresh and clean; the room was fresh and clean. There is a little hall between the bedroom and bathroom as well allowing you to close off your room from this little hallway and bathroom - Then outside your room complex in the lobby hallway there is a nice shared coffee machine – by shared I mean, there is one other room in this grouping that would be rented as a double bed with bathroom some of the time we were there it was rented but I never heard or saw anyone. It is quiet inside your room. Oh, and there is air conditioning as well. One of the interesting parts – I don’t know how many rooms Ambra has for Sistina Vatican Rooms but ours was just with one other in an apartment building. It was so fun. The elevator made me feel like I was in some old 60’s movie – it was great – and the apartment building was lovely and clean
