Enjoy safe swimming, snorkeling, island trips and fascinating views at this stunning beach on the northeastern coast of Sardinia.

Romazzino Beach sits on the eastern coast of Sardinia’s beautiful Costa Smeralda, where powdery white sand meets the stunning blue water of the Mediterranean Sea. This family-friendly beach is perfect for spending lazy days in the sun, enjoying watersports and swimming in warm, calm water. It’s also a gateway to unspoiled offshore islands.

The beach stretches around a pretty bay framed by rocky outcrops and backed by lush Mediterranean brush. Rent beach chairs and umbrellas, which are ideal for extra comfort and protection from the sun. The water is shallow, calm and crystal clear, making Romazzino Beach a popular swimming spot and a favoured location for families with young children. Watch as schools of multicolored fish dart around the seabed or rent snorkeling equipment and discover more marine life near the rocks.

Looking over the beach is a hotel, which has bars, cafés and restaurants open to the public. Enjoy coffee, cocktails, snacks and fresh seafood. Alternatively, have a picnic on the beach while you admire the sweeping coastal views. Spot the nearby islands, Isola Soffi and Isola di Mortorio. On an exceptionally clear day, you may see the western coast of mainland Italy. Join a boat trip to Isola di Mortorio, where you’ll discover breathtaking natural scenery and birdlife.

If you are feeling energetic, walk to Principe Beach in just 20 minutes. Set around a small cove, it’s another pleasant beach for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling.

Romazzino Beach is about a 30-minute drive from Arzachena’s town centre. The best way to get here is via rented car, scooter or bicycle following the winding road through the picturesque Sardinia countryside. Parking, although expensive, is available above the beach. You can find limited free parking spots on the streets of Romazzino village but they fill up fast, especially in the summer. Combine a day at Romazzino Beach with a visit to other Costa Smeralda beaches such as Capriccioli Beach and Pevero Beach.
