Kerin was quick to respond to any of our questions, making check-in super easy. The house is just the right mix of Rockport history and modern amenities, beautifully decorated yet casual and comfortable for a family with two energetic kids. The location was just right as well; a quick walk to the beach, shops and restaurants, while tucked away on a quiet neighborhood street. We felt like locals for the week, popping over to Bearskin Neck to pick up food or drinks, then relaxing on the deck or in the back yard. Extra touches like the keurig machine, beach chairs and wagon, and books and games for the kids (they loved the classic nintendo system!) made us feel at home. Thank you! ##### Christian S. Kitchen was small, so for a family, it was a bit challenging to maneuver around when we were all in the room. As far as layout, here are three key things that would've been helpful for us to know before we booked: (1) the living room was upstairs and the stairs were "older" stairs that weren't as deep as traditional stairs. That meant that our elderly parent did not go upstairs to join other family members in the living room. (Also, picture of living room in listing makes it look much bigger than it is.). (2) To get to the kitchen, you have to walk through a bedroom. So, for those of us who were early risers, who weren't in that bedroom, we walked outside the front door, around to the back, to let ourselves in the kitchen each morning. (3) While the two-story deck is nice, you can't access it from the kitchen. On the main level, you access it through a bedroom; on the upper level, you access it through the living room. The house itself was charming and nicely decorated, so no issues there. The owner was responsive and helpful and the people who live next door to the house were kind, generous, and very friendly. The house was absolutely perfect for our group and all of our plans. The home has been beautifully and very thoughtfully renovated and decorated while still maintaining the original character. The bedrooms are quite large and having 3 full bathrooms was a luxury! The kitchen was well appointed for our breakfasts at home and the one dinner we cooked together. The two decks are fantastic for relaxing outside or enjoying wine & cheese before dinner. The Tuck House location is ideal, especially since parking in town can be tough during the high season. Front Beach and Back Beach are both walkable, especially with the fantastic wagon for beach chairs! All other restaurants and shops are just minutes by foot, making for a very easy and accessible weekend.
