  • Golden Cottage by the Sea, is a true New England Cottage that has been lovingly restored and updated. This quaint 1830's house was completely remodeled in 2015. The panoramic views, Atlantic Coastal Path, and fresh ocean air allow for a true place of peace and renewal. Located in a beautiful area called the Avenues it is between the Emerson Inn and Halibut Point. This is the ideal vacation home. If you choose to hike the coastal path, visit the Historic Village of Rockport or hit the beaches of Rockport and Gloucester you will have plenty to do.

    There is great fishing off of the rocks. A small private and rocky beach steps from your back door. A private yard for play. A 5 minute drive and from Rockport shops, art galleries and beaches.

My stay at Golden Cottage by the Sea exceeded all my expectations. The view of the ocean was truly stunning and the house was spotless and well-stocked. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning looking out over the ocean. The neighborhood was lovely, with many public walking paths. Lovely oceanside location

Well-maintained, spacious house with nice decks to enjoy the spectacular ocean view. Tons of natural light and ocean views inside from the many windows. Super comfy beds/linens and towels. Stairs a bit narrow and slightly steep might be a challenge for some but no problem for us. Excellent kitchen. Very quiet and beautiful neighborhood.

Beautiful Views and Memories

This was our second stay at the Golden Cottage by the Sea. The cottage is clean and well kept with 5 bedrooms and an open main floor that is great for socializing. The view from the multiple decks is spectacular. We saw whales from the deck during our dinner on the first night. It is an easy drive to the Rockport Historic District and to Glouster for a dinner out or picking up fresh seafood at Turner’s Seafood. This is an easy home to make memories.

Lots to do! Beautiful!

We spent 9 days in lovely Golden Cottage in June. Loved the musical theatre (Fiddler), a visit to the Crane estate and gardens, poking around the artists’ shops and antique shops, and the many public walks in the area. Relaxing and fun. The room-sized LG AC units were terrific, and the whole house is so well thought-out, though a working toaster and a blender would be good additions. I’d love to come back again!

A Must Stay

What a great place to stay for our annual “sisters” fall get away. The house was spacious, comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of towels and linens. Views from the balconies are beautiful. House was in a nice quiet neighborhood great for walks. Enjoyed the coastal causeway path and great views of the Atlantic. Numerous beaches to visit, close to Halibut Pointe State Park and close to town. Would highly recommend.

Comfortable and spacious with ocean view

Our group ranging in age from 83 to 12 really enjoyed our stay in the Golden cottage. Great ocean views from main living area and kitchen plus 2 bedrooms. 5 bedrooms (all upstairs- be aware if someone in your group has difficulty with stairs) with good amounts of space. Very nice updated bathrooms and an awesome shower upstairs!! Kitchen well equipped and pleasant to cook in. Dining table has room for 10! Kids used backyard for volleyball, easy walk to Atlantic Path.

Amazing Home

The pictures don’t do this property justice. Absolutely beautiful, and very comfortable. The back yard is larger than it looks, perfect place for games like a soccer or corn hole. Didn’t have to contact the owner while there but I did a few times before the trip and she responded immediately. We had 9 people sleeping there and a few more during the day and for meals, and we had plenty of room. Very clean and quite a few small appliances in addition to large stove and refrigerator. We will go back for sure.

Rockport stay

Property was very clean. Because it only had 2 bathrooms it was not ideal for 8 adults. Also the TV situation was not the best as the password for the streaming services was not provided. The kitchen knives were very dull and there was insufficient larger bowls. I also think the stove needs to be checked out because one or two of the burners did not heat.

Best House Rental ever! August 2023

This house was just as listed. Extremely clean, (something that is very important to me) Well stocked with anything you could need. Central location to everything. Easy to get to Rockport downtown, as well as Good Harbor Beach and Gloucester. Neighborhood was great. Very friendly folks. Wonderful trails down to the Atlantic from the house and neighborhood. Incredible views from all balconies and deck. Appliances , furniture was upscale and new. Host very friendly, responsive to questions and helpful. 3 generations stayed here and had a blast. I read all reviews before renting and you always wonder what a rental will be in reality. I can say this was the best rental we have ever stayed in. We are hoping to come again next year!
