East end of Roatan is not Miami Beach. If you are looking for luxury do not look in east end of Roatan! The roads are bad and there is little infrastructure. If you are looking for Incredible beaches to yourself go here. If you are looking for Incredible people who are always smiling and genuinely friendly go here. We were invited to the local soccer field to watch the local team play in the finals. We made the mistake of sitting in the wrong section. We were cheering for the wrong team. Scary, right? Don't be ridiculous. We could not have felt more welcome. Everyone was having a great time and included us in the festivities. If you are looking for breathtaking scenery, both the ocean and the national park, go here. Rent a small SUV to navigate the roads and hills and start your adventure in Diamond Rock. Spend your days on the nearby beaches. Dine and drink in a locally owned and operated Palapa on the beach. Meet new friends and plan your return trip!
