The rooms and grounds were spotless, and everything felt welcoming and comfortable. We had hot water, good AC, and everything we needed within a short walking distance, including restaurants and dive shops. The real highlight was the snorkeling -- just steps from the shore, we found vibrant coral and tons of marine life. No need for a boat trip when you have that right out front! Special thanks to Rene, the owner, who went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout. The hotel does not have a restaurant or other services, but the location is excellent, quiet and right next to the water and it's very easy to go swimming in the protected bay. It's only a short walk to restaurants, grocery store, dive shops and "downtown" West End. Most of the cabins on this property are closed along with the restaurant and bar, which makes for the best experience to enjoy the sounds of nature and the overwhelming feeling that this slice of heaven is all for you. That’s right, why have a crowded noisy restaurant and bar where you want to relax? Here at half moon resort you still have the convenience of a two minute walk to all the restaurants and bars you will ever need and still be able to retreat back to your own secluded, very rustic private hideaway. My favorite was the hammock on the balcony overlooking the ocean. I spent a lot of time relaxing there. The treetops surrounding had small flowers that the hummingbirds frequented. The used to have a restaurant but i was not bothered in the least that it was closed. The owners hooked me up with airport transportation for $30 each way and a private guide, Marvin that took me out snorkeling. The snorkeling was amazing! Everything was within walking distance or $5 water taxi. Woody's grocery is about 2 blocks away for easy access. Do not come here wanting to be pampered. The rooms are very basic. No Tv, just a bed, couple end tables and a small fridge to put your water in. With that being said the Staff was super friendly the grounds were clean, the surrounding were very quite a couple blocks from the main town center. It was nice to decompress and spend time in the Ocean which is just feet away from the resort. The snorkeling was great as the reef you can see from your room and walk right out to it.
