Rustic, beach side apartment, steps from the waters edge Also find us at www.blueislanddiversroatan.com Casa Descanso is an island style charming apartment on the first floor of our beach home; located on the property of Blue Island Divers (check us out on Trip Advisor, you will not be disappointed). Casa Descanso in Sandy Bay, Roatan is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, ocean front. Each bedroom has a queen size bed & closet area. The front porch has a covered dining area with ceiling fans, seating for four people and a gas grill. You have full use of the property which includes a private dock, a beach with lounge chairs & hammocks, and a common area at the dive shop. Maz-Kai, a neighborhood favorite restaurant is located on property and also available as an add on for an all-inclusive stay. Our divers paradise is just steps to the dive shop and for non-divers in your group they can relax on the beach in lounge chairs, hammocks or enjoy snorkeling from our pier. Do you have more than 4 in your party? We have 3 other units on property. Check In begins at 3pm and Check Out is by 11 am. Early check in may be available. This is your home away from home and the entire property is for your use. Please note this is a diving operation and the filling of scuba tanks is limited between the hours of 8am and 9pm. Most generally this process is completed between 2pm and 5pm. However night dives do require the need to fill tanks at 8 am. We live on property particular times of the year in the upstairs unit and will be available to assist when needed. Our customer relations staff is available for any assistance when we are not on site. Blue Island Divers is open Monday-Saturday, 7:30am-5:00pm. Sunday's you will have the beach and premises for your use; however, the diving and bar and restaurant are closed. From 6pm until 6:30am we have a night watchman on property and Sunday for 24 hours a watchman is also on property. We are located 10 minutes from Coxen hole and 10 minutes to West End in the quiet neighborhood of Sandy Bay. We are steps from the principal road which traverses the entire island. You can walk the beach for approximately a 1/2 mile in each direction and enjoy the tranquil breeze and beautiful mangroves or sand beach. We have ample parking available if you rent a car; and if not, you're steps from being able to grab a taxi cab at the main road. We have specific taxi drivers available for tours when their schedule allows. Otherwise we recommend grabbing a taxi at the road. Electricity is included with A/C usage limited to the time spent inside the unit. We request the units are shut off when not indoors. The space is quickly cooled by multiple units when you return. \*\*Many other listings do not include electricity with nightly rental and some do not have air conditioning.\*\*\*\* ## Property amenities ### Beach - The owners Eric & Carly are gracious and welcoming hosts. The room was rustic but comfortable, clean and as described. Perfect for a quiet vacation getaway. The kitchen has everything needed, the bathroom and shower clean and nice. Didn't need air conditioning, we kept doors open to get the ocean breeze through the double screen doors, and to hear the surf. A guard was on duty from evening until daybreak to keep an eye on things. The area is clean, well kept and raked often. Large trees shade the grounds and the hammock area nicely with plenty of beach chairs for sun. A long dock ends in a covered area perfect to sip a cool rum punch and watch those fantastic sunsets. We ate several great meals at the Salty Mango just steps up the hill from our room. To mix it up a bit, it's easy to catch a taxi to West End for an evening walk and a bite to eat. The beach is clean and sandy. My daybreak walks along the shore was a perfect way to start the day, take water shoes. The waves break on the barrier reef which make for an easy swim from the dock. We snorkeled out to the corals several times during our stay. We also tried the Discover Scuba course offered by the dive shop. What an absolutely amazing experience it was to see the ocean side of the reef wall from 35ft under, highly recommended! Can't wait to get back there. ##### Paul K. Stayed 3 nights in Jan 2016 ---
