Bald eagles soar daily along the shoreline and often perch in the trees on the property looking for their next meal. The lake house was completely remodeled in the Fall of 2022\. The gem is the land and where it sits on the lake. The views of the lake, vineyards right onsite are beautiful. Sit at the fire pit under the stars and listen to the sounds of the lake. The house itself is an old farmhouse and as such the “character” of a 100 year old house and it’s quirks maybe off putting to someone looking for a modern perfect rental. If you are comfortable with an old house like we are, you’ll be perfectly at home. We had an issue checking in a host was quick to solve our the problem. We weren’t able to go camping this year, but wanted to still have the ability of some of our favorite parts (swimming, fire, hiking, stargazing). This property did that for us. The property is private and quiet (only sound was waves crashing and the occasion car passing). The views of the lake were spectacular. Beautiful sunset, butterflies and lightening bugs flying around, an eagle passing by the trees. There are so many options of things to do within a half hours drive. I would just double check restaurant openings if you are there at the beginning or the week. We found many that didn’t open until Thursday. It worked well for what we needed. The beds were comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. We loved sitting on the little bench overlooking the cliff. We loved not having neigbors or excessive house rules. The house was roomy.The house interior had a lot of spiders and it must have been cleaned at some point and then sat for a while. The stairs are narrow and all of the bedrooms are upstairs so be mindful if you have any elderly or young group members. No major issues though. ##### Ashley G. Would vome again forca winery tour. We were able to visit 4, but there are so many more in the area. If you like sweet wine and wine tastings, this a a great place to be. Property is gorgeous!
