Our check-in time was 2 PM and we arrived around 1PM due to our flight schedule. We anticipated the wait for the check in time and were perfectly fine with it. There were 3 guys at the front desk and we were simply told after we gave them our reservation name that "you have to wait till 3 PM". After waiting for about an hour at the lobby and witnessing every person who came in after us get a room, I decided to ask about our reservation . Once again, in a very rude manner, i was told by the guy at the front desk "you have to wait till 3 PM". I showed him that our check-in time was 2 PM and not 3 PM, according to our reservation and he said the same thing again with a bigger attitude (I guess that was the limit of his English vocabulary). The gentleman was so rude that while "talking at me" another employee said something and he turned his back to me to speak to his colleague. At that point another guy at the front desk took over and we had a room within 5 minutes (go figure!!). Our experience at the hotel went from bad to worse and all related to service, from having us and other guests walk thru the garage entrance and use the service elevator (there is no pedestrian service entrance) after a walk on the beach. The location of the hotel is OK, however, in all of my travels for business or pleasure, i have never encountered such a lack of customer service, specially in a hotel in a beautiful place like Rio. The hotel charges for ice and does not offer an Iron
