"Location was great, right by the side of the main road and next to a petrol station with a shop we could walk to. Great for re-fueling before continuing our journey and buying some treats. Nice hotel room, clean and a comfortable bed. Man on reception was very pleasant and spoke perfect English which was helpful. "The hotel is stylish & up-market. it has a lovely swimming pool area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pool bar was closed which was a shame during the daytime heat . The service in the restaurant was a bit slow but the food was very good and not overly priced. We would definitely stay here again as the hotel is very central and the town of Penafiel is lovely"

She owns a bakery/deli next door to the main hotel that is a must stop for breakfast or after dinner snacks. I would strongly recommend this hotel. "
