This is a great-value property for families or groups who want space and proximity to everything, without paying top-end prices. It's an older-style house with a few modern updates, but what it might lack in polish, it makes up for in square footage and unbeatable positioning. The living space is huge. A bright, extended lounge with loads of comfy seating and patio doors opening onto the garden is made for laid-back get-togethers. There's also a large flat-screen TV and a log burner to keep things cosy in the cooler months. The kitchen diner is fully equipped and social, with another log burner and direct access to the patio for easy outdoor dining. Downstairs also features a private en-suite king bedroom with French doors to the garden, ideal for grandparents or guests who'd prefer to avoid stairs. The en-suite includes a freestanding 6ft bath and a walk-in shower. Upstairs, there are four more bedrooms, all with sea views: a king-size master with en-suite, another king room, and two twins. Plus, you've got two more bathrooms, five in total, so no queues when it's time to head out. Outside, there's a large walled garden with wrap-around patio, space for BBQs, lounging, games, and more. There's also a sunny, sheltered deck at the back of the house, a great little reading nook, and parking for three cars on the drive. An EV charger is available for guest use. No garage access. Basic items lacking. Only 3 toilet rolls for 5 bathrooms. Tiny sample tube of washing up liquid so we had to buy some. No replacement bin liners, so again we had to buy some. No cleaning products to wipe surfaces. These are just basic things that we’ve not had to buy in other properties. Garden not safe for smaller dogs as our Jack Russell could get under the gate quite easily and straight onto the road. Perhaps some wire mesh attached to the bottom of the gate? Ideally situated comfortable beds and plenty of seating. Views are great and the sunsets spectacular. My only criticism would be the outdoor furniture in the bbq area needs renovating or replacing and the bbq needed a clean. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good #### Colin H. 1 Mar 2020 #### Storm Dennis and 70mph winds no problem in Morwennol, but beach walks with the dogs rather bracing. There's something very comforting and reassuring sitting by the flickering flames of a log burner watching the nature do its worst outside. Our third visit to Morwennol coincided with some of the worst weather of the winter. The house is warm and snug once you master the heating controls and there is the added bonus of the two log burners and we were glad to have brought a supply of logs, not particularly because the house needed the extra heating but because it added to the cosy family feel for our multi generational family half term holiday. The house is spacious enough for all family members to have their own space when they wish and the large dining area and lounge enhance the communal family friendly feel. The downstairs bedroom and en suite is a big plus both for privacy and convenience. In the main everything in the house is top notch but there are areas that could do with freshening up. The main problem we had is with the mattress in the rear upstairs bedroom which has clearly seen better days and was not the best even when we first stayed at Morwennol several years ago. Another disappointment was dining at the Oyster Catcher, which was a favourite haunt of ours but we had reservations about it last year and this time was very poor value. However I can report that Scarlett's Chippy is still excellent both in terms of quality and value, it's always busy with large orders so you can place your order and pop over the road to the Sandy Mount for a drink while you're waiting. The weather was so bad that the usual 8.00am wake up call of the first flights of the day from RAF Valley never bothered us, there was negligible flying during the week, much to the disappointment of some family members. While it was hardly the type of holiday you can have in Rhosneigr during the summer it was still very enjoyable and we would return to this house again. As always the service from Rhosneigr Holidays was excellent, even to the extent of coming out to replace a light bulb in a gale, that's good customer service. If you don't know the area I would recommend it. I first came here on holiday over 60 years ago and although I've travelled a fair bit since then I never tire of revisiting this area with it's bays and beaches within reach of the mountains and wonderful seascapes and sunsets. ##### Colin H. Down stair en-suite bathroom door handle was falling off, at one point was locked in bathroom. Kitchen surfaces & cabinets could of been a bit cleaner. The barbecue area was ideal and the fly over by Red Arrows as he cut the cake was something else!! It was well equipped to cater for a large party. The views were fabulous and the new rooms a real asset. The shower room on the ground floor was very useful. There were a few teething problems after the building work but we had a prompt response. There were however a couple of issues. There was a lot of dog dirt in the barbecue area on our arrival which we had to clear up before we could use it. A couple of people fell on the steps on the decking( not inebriated!) It is difficult to see the edges of the steps . Also the step coming out of the suite into the kitchen has the same problem. It would be a good idea to put some visible tape on them. ##### Sheila T. Exceeded my expectations which takes a lot of doing.The weather was fantastic, the kite and wind surfers add entertainment, the local restaurants and cafes are excellent.Testing friendly golf course 2 mins away.
