Excelente costbenefit

The only thing that must be upgraded is The "glass wall" from the shower space/tube in the bathroom. It does not container the water from splashing in the bathroom floor

Noisy budget hotel

Posted 07-Oct-2017
Expected the small room so no surprise there. Didn't expect the noise. Doors slamming, gurgling water sounds I'm the pipes, people talking in nearby rooms. The hotel should invest in better doors and put insulation in the walls.

Decent hotel for price

Posted 05-Sep-2017
Only negatives are some rooms have no windows which means no natural light and can feel depressing. The staff also talk really loud in the mornings while making up rooms.

Dear lina, Thank you for your feedback and for your stay. Unfortunately we have some rooms with a window facing the hallway. They are our cheapest option. Hotel Cabin is a budget hotel with budget prices but we do offer the possibility to upgrade to a Superior room. We are sorry for the inconvenience about the noise from the staff members. We will use your review on our next staff meeting and do our best to improve. Hope we will see you again back in Iceland one day. Kind regards,

Great staff, meals were convenient. Room was small

Posted 24-Aug-2017
Pros: The staff and meeting the other quests during meals.
Cons: Larger rooms.
Location: Hotel is in a office complex area with small cafes' nearby. Wharf is directly down the street but long walk. Lots of buses.
We stayed for four days to get a taste of Iceland via tours. We took three tours in three days with pick up and drop off at the Hotel. We shared most meals in the Hotel Dining Room and met several other travelers from all over the world. It was a very good trip but expensive. Much more than the U.S. or Germany.

Dear Roger, Thank you for your review and for your stay. We are delighted to know that you liked the effort from our staff and meeting the other guests during meals. We would like to mention that the standard rooms are our most inexpensive option and are, as the name implies, simple but comfortable. If you prefer a larger room, we particularly recommend our superior room. They are larger and have more amenities than the standard rooms. The rooms are approximately 18m2 and have a private bathroom with bathtub. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future. Kind regards, Hotel Cabin team

The only hotel I know with rooms without windows!

Posted 30-Jul-2017
For some reason we were offered a room with 2 bathrooms and no windows! In US such rooms are not considered a bedroom and cannot be sold; but I guess this is a peculiarity of an Icelandic standard. The hotel, however, does not specify it and advertise a completely different room. Eventually I exchanged this room for a "superior" one which was rather a joke - broken lamps, worn out bedding... But again, perhaps an Icelandic standard.

Dear Michael, Thank you for your stay and for your review. Please accept our apologies regarding the broken lamps and we are sorry that the hotel was not to your liking. Even if you were not happy with our hotel we do hope that the trip to Iceland was delightful and that we will see you in Iceland again. Kind regards, hotel Cabin team

Excellent hotel for keeping costs down.

This was a great stay for an excellent price- although the room was tiny and had no window it was more about the cleanliness, comfort and price plus a very good breakfast is included. This made the difference for me of where to stay. I would highly recommend the stay at Hotel Cabin and I will stay there again on my next visit to Reykjavik.

Extemely small, pack light, wonderful service from front desk only. At breakfast I felt like we were being watched (didn't like that) and I couldn't enjoy eating peacefully. Convenient for tour pick ups.

Good view of the water, little else.

We found used soap in the shower indicating that the attention to detail in cleaning the shower from the last customer was sub par. Noisy room due to elevator mechanisms continuing all night long. Good breakfast included.

Very small room. A good half hour walk to the town centre. Breakfast OK. Room a bit shabby. Lobby area good and possible to book tours from the lobby shop. After two days out of town it was not nice to return to the Cabin - heart sank.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your feedback and for your stay. We are disappointed to learn that your heart sank when you returned back to hotel Cabin after two days out of town. The standard rooms are a bit small yes, but they are quite comfortable and cozy. You do get smaller rooms, but you do also pay budget price. We have the option of booking a deluxe and superior room if you prefer a larger room. We are glad that you enjoyed the lobby area :) The walk along the seaside is indeed amazing :) Thank you again for your feedback, and hopefully we get the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel in the near future. Kind regards
