We stayed at the Canopy from October 9th to 17th, and the location was excellent. Restaurants, shops, and museums are all within walking distance, and several tour pick-up points are nearby. Breakfast was among the best I’ve had, and the ginger shot was a highlight. After reading some reviews, I was worried about noise since we arrived on a Saturday, but it turned out to be minimal and quieted down by around 10 pm. I loved everything about this hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Iceland.
Location Location Location !! Bang in middle of the main street. We had booked a Jr. Suite which was terrific, albeit quite expensive. If you take sky bus from airport (which I highly recommend as it is a lot cheaper than taxi), it will drop you at their main bus station and then a smaller van will drop you close to the hotel. It is then a short walk to the hotel property about 150 mtrs (bit of an uphill road) but not stressful. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They have a nice coffee shop at reception which is not free but very useful if you want a quick bite or a drink (24 hrs open). Morning Breakfast was also excellent. The Bathroom was sheer luxury. All in all, expensive, yes but, the property and location were well worth it.
Full disclosure, Iceland hunts and kills about 2 Fin whales per day, a stain that followed me along our stay in this excellent hotel.
The location, staff, and restaurant are all very good, the breakfast is perfect!
This francise is owned by a Malaysian company end they seem to run it very well! I would go back once the whaling stops.
Great spot, just one block off the main tourist street in Reykjavik. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the fitness center was nicely appointed (but did not have a cable machine). The lobby was spacious and a relaxed place to hang out. I’d certainly stay here again and recommend it to others!
Easy check in and check out. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms were clean and inviting. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. A+ experience in all respects.
This hotel was in the upper range of my price point, but well worth it. The location is down a street from the bars/cafes and souvenir shops and up a street from some classier restaurants. Reykavich pretty much closes down early evening so street noise was never an issue.
Our room was spacious by Icelandic standards, clean with a great shower. The breakfast buffet was fabulous so we could have skipped having lunch for the day.
Front desk was excellent at handling paperwork and baggage storage.
Highly recommend this property if you are staying in Reykavich.
