About this property

Barley House, luxurious beach facing accommodation

  • Barley House is an idyllic place to stay with the beach only meters from its door with stunning sea views and located moments away from the High Street and famous Lord Nelson Pub.

It offers a peaceful and restful place to stay, ideal for two families or up to 8 guests with a small courtyard garden for alfresco dining under the fairy lights.

    The space
Located on East Cliff, Barley House overlooks the waterfront. The house has four floors with three/four bedrooms, a king size sea view room with ensuite shower room, a twin room with ensuite shower room and the top floor offering a suite style accommodation with king size bed with an adjoining twin bedroom with shared ensuite bathroom and shower. Two rooms offer sea views whilst the remaining rooms offer great views of the famous Southwold lighthouse.

All rooms are beautifully decorated to a high standard in light tones, some with panelling and all with classic beach style furnishings throughout.

The house has been recently refurbished, boasting a large kitchen dining area for 8 guests which has steps leading to the lit olive tree courtyard, also ideal for eating, reading or just escaping and unwinding with evening drinks at home.

The kitchen is very well equipped with, gas range cooker, dishwasher, airfryer, Nespresso coffee machine and additional utility/pantry with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a retractable clothes line in the courtyard for drying if needed.

The living area is located on the ground floor and offers lovely sea views with a place to watch the world go by. There is a TV and wifi available and a cosy gas fire. It offers a small table area to eat, chat, work or simply play board games, along with sofa and leather armchairs all beautifully styled and cosy. A wonderful place to relax and unwind in the height of summer or on a winters day.

There is also a downstairs WC and cloakroom.
All bedlinen and towels are provided with an exception of beach towels which we would ask you bring for yourself.

Gas central heating and plenty of hot water all available.

The house is victorian and therefore has stair access to all floors which could be challenging for some. Please keep this in mind.

Dogs are very welcome to stay too although we ask that they are kept in the kitchen at night. A stair gate is in place to keep dogs contained if necessary in the kitchen area. 2 dogs maximum.
