The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location couldn’t have been better — right by the river with beautiful views and just a short walk to the historic city center. Our room was comfortable, clean, and full of charm. The only challenge was the parking garage, which was a little tight for our larger car. Hotel location is great, just outside the old city, on the Danube. Very walkable. Room was just OK. The beds were too hard, you could feel the springs in the mattresses--please replace them--and the old corner tub with a handheld shower was very difficult to use-getting in/getting out was dangerous for my partner. Pillows were very uncomfortable foam pillows. For the price, they should be better. Rooms need to be updated. Breakfast was nice but nothing special. Staff was all very friendly and responsive. Parking at the hotel was convenient yet expensive. Only on second day after I complained to Expedia. Room is very hot, slept with window opened but put up with outside noise till midnight, fan provided made loud noise so had to switch it off. Only slept 3 hours first night. Staff at reception rude and defensive, making excuses for the failures. In contrast, the restaurant staff were very helpful and efficient. Carpets and towels provided were threadbare, lucky I had slippers. The Sorat Group should look into the management and issues at this hotel. Its my first stay with this hotel group and likely my last. I worry whether the issues at this hotel are a group wide issue. Not risking a second horrible experience like this! Very odd that I did not see any young kids or babies staying at this hotel during the two nights I was there.
