Follow your guide out to the picturesque rows of plants in the vineyard and find out why this pleasant microclimate is perfect for growing certain types of grapes. See where the newly harvested grapes are stored and learn why stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels are used in the creation of the red, white and sparkling wines produced on the estate. The owner, Normélio Ravanello, has been part of his family’s winemaking activities since he was a child. He and his wife Rosa Maria show their passion for this ancient activity in the beautifully manicured grounds and excellent wine that they produce. Ravanello Winery is located about 75 miles (120 kilometres) from the international airport at Porto Alegre. The nearby town of Gramado is about a 15-minute drive away.
