Clean, tidy and cosy, sleeps 5\. Queen bed in bedroom, double sofabed and single divan in lounge. Duvets and pillows provided. The bathroom is in an adjacent wash-house. The kitchenette has double hotplates, a microwave, fridge, and Zip water heater, along with crockery, cutlery and cooking gear. Come and make the most of the "Adventure Plateau", with Haven Cottage as your base. Haven Cottage is nestled between the world heritage Tongariro National Park, Tongariro Forest Park, and Raurimu Scenic Reserve, and only a stones throw away from the Whanganui National Park, Haven offers an awesome base for your Central Plateau adventures. Raurimu is home to the world famous Raurimu Spiral (you can watch the trains on the 2nd level from the front porch), and is only 20 mins to Whakapapa ski field, 40 mins to Turoa ski field, and about 20 mins to the nationally renowned Taumarunui Golf Course. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is rated the best one day trek in New Zealand, and listed by many as one of the top-ten day treks in the world. Haven Cottage is the perfect base for the Crossing.
