Truly a Gem!

Posted 17-Feb-2017
The Magic Reef was such a great find for us...we were ending a long trip in the Cook Islands for some R&R and the Magic Reef was The perfect spot. I can't say enough about the owners and their team- they are wonderful; so welcoming and accommodating, you feel well taken care of! We will definitely return and would highly recommend MR to couples looking for a South Pacific vacation.

Quiet & Relaxing

Posted 03-Jan-2017
Pros: Well maintained, comfortable villas, great sunset views. Pool & grounds well kept.Staff & Owners very helpful & friendly.
Cons: nothing, everything you need except a bar but this would change the feel of the place and it's great as it is.
Location: Bars & restaurants within easy walking distance along beach. Short bus trip into the town. Can book anything through the office usually with transport
Very relaxing holiday just what we needed to unwind. Spent most of the time relaxing by the pool or on the beach deck. Right on the beach, lagoon is ok for snorkeling but best at high tide as it's a bit shallow otherwise. No bar or restaurant which we new going in but not a problem as there's a few in walking distance and it keeps this resort quiet and peaceful. The room was well appointed, the structure and layout in-keeping with island theme in the bamboo frame and woven wall panels.

Unspoilt patch of paradise

Posted 15-Oct-2016
Pros: Absolutely everything, but particularly the many little touches; breakfast of local fruit on arrival, hammock on the beach etc. Wonderful
Cons: I was unable to find anything I didn't like. Our whole stay was pretty perfect.
Location: Rental, shops, eateries, bars within 5 minutes walking. Beach and snorkelling on the doorstep and along the coast. What more does one need?!
Cannot recommend this boutique accomodation enough. Not only was the setting literally awe inspiringly beautiful, but the bungalows, each with bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and outdoor shower/bath facilities, had the perfect situation to maximise the stunning views. If this were not enough, the staff and owners could not be more approachable, knowledgeable and genuinely intent on making the most of your stay on this rejuvenating little island. A wealth of knowledge and advice is available from the Magic Reef team and the recommendations helped fill my week with fantastic memories. Difficult to pick out the highlights but certainly would include some of the suggested snorkelling sights (particularly Aro'a) and definately the local platter (which you must consider please), to have whilst enjoying the surroundings as the sky erupts in sumptuous colours at sunset. Paradise just doesn't do this place justice.

Wundervolles Hotel zum Wohlfühlen und entspannen

Posted 07-Oct-2016

Magic in every way. Relaxing, oh so relaxing. Nothing to much trouble, great advice about Rarotonga actives, where to eat, drink, swim etc. Thanks so much Angela, Simon, Nacey and team for such a friendly home away from home.

Absolute beachfront, absolutely fantastic.

Posted 10-Apr-2016
Pros: The absolute beachfront and privacy. It is on the west side of the island so the sunsets are just great.
Cons: Everything is A+.
Location: Magic Reef is close to Avarua, the main town on Rarotonga. A lot of things you can do are close by.
It could not have been better. You get privacy, great help from the staff, peace and quiet, and warm weather and a wonderful South Pacific just in front of your bungalow.

Unique beachfront accommodation

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Pros: Everything
Location: Beachfront. Wilsons Bar is a short walk down the beach (great cocktails)
What a fantastic place to stay. Everything about Magic Reef Baumgalows was amazing. We had an absolute beachfront bungalow which really was right on the beach. The bungalows are lovely, spacious and clean and the outdoor shower/bathroom is great. They have a king size bed and a fold out couch. We went with our two teenage sons so they put in two single beds also. The pool is lovely, plenty of nice outdoor furniture. As there are only nine bungalows it's very quiet and private. The owner, Angela, went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Even drove us to the shop and to Aroa. I don't usually go to the same place twice as there are so many lovely places in the world to see, however we definitely intend to go back to Magic Reef.
