Perfect beach side bungalows

Posted 07-Aug-2016
Magic in every way. Relaxing, oh so relaxing. Nothing to much trouble, great advice about Rarotonga actives, where to eat, drink, swim etc. Thanks so much Angela, Simon, Nacey and team for such a friendly home away from home.

Absolute beachfront, absolutely fantastic.

Posted 10-Apr-2016
Pros: The absolute beachfront and privacy. It is on the west side of the island so the sunsets are just great.
Cons: Everything is A+.
Location: Magic Reef is close to Avarua, the main town on Rarotonga. A lot of things you can do are close by.
It could not have been better. You get privacy, great help from the staff, peace and quiet, and warm weather and a wonderful South Pacific just in front of your bungalow.

Unique beachfront accommodation

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Pros: Everything
Location: Beachfront. Wilsons Bar is a short walk down the beach (great cocktails)
What a fantastic place to stay. Everything about Magic Reef Baumgalows was amazing. We had an absolute beachfront bungalow which really was right on the beach. The bungalows are lovely, spacious and clean and the outdoor shower/bathroom is great. They have a king size bed and a fold out couch. We went with our two teenage sons so they put in two single beds also. The pool is lovely, plenty of nice outdoor furniture. As there are only nine bungalows it's very quiet and private. The owner, Angela, went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Even drove us to the shop and to Aroa. I don't usually go to the same place twice as there are so many lovely places in the world to see, however we definitely intend to go back to Magic Reef.

Great place to unwind and relax

Posted 07-Dec-2015 on Hotels
Our stay at Magic Reef has been a splendid and memorable one thanks to the owners and Nancy. We had a great 5 night stay at Magic Reefs. We love that our room faces the lagoon. Imagine sleeping and waking up every day to the sound of waves crashing. Splendid indeed! Our bungalow was well equipped and had a rustic feel. We love that Magic Reefs provided free snorkling gear and shoes. Made our snorkeling trips amazing and fuss free. Thank you Magic Reef for making our honeymoon stay at Cook Islands a memorable one and thanks Nancy for all the help.

Overlooked the Ocean

Posted 27-Nov-2015
Pros: Very "homey" feel to it. Realaxing and super glad to have A/C for the humidity during the day.
Cons: It would be lovely if they had a bar/hotel on the property. It would also be nice if shuttle or airport pick up and departure were complimentary.
Location: Not much nearby -- a couple of restaurants. You need a bus or transportation to get downtown for more selection of eats and shopping.
Beautiful view from our bunglow. Sewage was cleaned in the bunglow right next to ours. Since windows are used for ventilation, our room totally reaked and we were forced to leave due to the stench. Staff apologized, but day was ruined. Housekeeping were delightful as was the receptionist. Owners were hospitable and helpful when needed. Pool was clean and grounds were nice.

Beautiful boutique resort right on the beach.

Posted 31-Oct-2015
Our stay at Magic Reef Bungalows was fabulous in every respect. The bungalows themselves had heaps of character and were clean and newly renovated. The tropical landscaped gardens were beautiful. The view of the beach from the bungalows was breathtaking. Angela and Simon were the best hosts and very accommodating. Choosing Magic Reef for our accommodation made our trip to Rarotonga fantastic!

Quiet adult only beach front complex

Posted 27-Oct-2015 on Wotif
Pros: We liked that it was adults only, individual bungalows & beautiful gardens. Pleased we stayed at a small facility as felt we got very personal service
Location: Great restaurant The Waterline a few doors down. Relatively close to the airport and main town centre for convenience.
My husband and I had a fabulous week at the Magic Reef. The owners and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to help. The complex is beautifully maintained boasting amazing gardens with scooters and bicycles available to hire as well as complimentary snorkeling gear available to use. Thanks Simon and Angela :)

Fantastic place, close to beach and bars, comfy!

Posted 04-Oct-2015
Cons: See above.
We loved our stay there, accommodation was perfect, comfortable, spacious, and right on the beach. Beautiful views right form every bungalow deck over the water and beach. Quiet, peaceful and super pretty. Pol was wonderful and the hosts super friendly and helpful. Totally recommended. We'd definitely go back :-) The only small 'problems' (and there were not really problems at all) is that if you are planning to stay there a little longer and therefore would like self cater a little more, the kitchen facilities were great but pretty small. BBQ made up for it partly though :-) It's fantastic that unlimited drinking water and ice are provided - well done guys! It saves a lot of hassle and money! Given the high-ish price of the resort though, it would be cool if the hotel transfers and the breakfasts were also included in the room price as well - just a suggestion to make people feel that hey are getting the value for their dollar :-) We were very happy and comfortable there and wold definitely come back!

Authentic villas/bungalows on the beach

Posted 04-Oct-2015 on Wotif
Pros: The authentic bamboo bungalows in particular the bathroom was lovely - outside shower and bath, and they included enviro friendly bodywash and shampoo
Cons: Include airport transfers in the price
Location: Right on the beach and sheltered from the wind. Couple of nice eateries close by
Lovely relaxed stay, friendly staff, great location. Fruit platter on arrival was nice. They even provided transport to the start of the across the island walk
