Peace and Quiet
We were lucky enough to share in the peace and quiet that this little cabin provides. Even though there are a couple other cabins nearby, we never had anything more than the whisper of the wind in the trees, and the occasional rooster call. We loved every moment here and will be back sooner than I’m sure we both would have thought. Thanks

Great getaway
Enjoyed this lovely cabin and our South Dakota vacation! Location was great, close to attractions but we really enjoyed the privacy and being off the main road. Our cabin was amazing; clean and homey. There was even a lovely basket of goodies for us to enjoy!

Cute little cabin, clean, and easy. You can't hear road noise. Came with a little gift basket of snacks and fresh eggs, along with some travel size soap, shampoo, etc. I would definitely use one of those cabins again

Birthdays-Anniversary getaway
We spent a week at this cabin celebrating my wife’s and my birthdays and anniversary. It was perfect! The cabin amazing…very cosy. Great view and location. Welcomed with a gift basket of snacks and fresh eggs. There was also a gift bundle in the bathroom. Location was perfect. Got to visit all the major attractions in the area. Would definitely rent this cabin again. We would like to bring family members and rent a bigger cabin which they also have. We got to see wild deer and turkeys. There was also a resident squirrel that would visit on occasion. Would highly recommend renting these cabins.

Pretty Little Cabin in the Woods
A great property for two. It was immaculate and had everything that we needed for our three day stay. Very close to Rushmore, Custer and Keystone. Owner was very responsive. Could not have been better for us.

Great central location
We stayed for a week, it was a great central location to all the attractions. We did badlands, windcave, jewel cave, mt Rushmore, Custer, crazy horse, deadwood, spearfish canyon. After hiking and site seeing it was great to come back and relax on the porch or around the fire pit of this cozy little cabin . Everything was clean and well stocked and some great goodies from the owner. Only minor suggestion would be some more hangers for clothing. Also not quite as private as we like but definitely would stay again!! Didn’t hear the neighbors at all really! Saw deer and turkey nearly everyday from the cabin. We were very happy with this choice and would Recommend!

Sturgis stay in South Dakota
The cabin was beautiful and very peaceful. Julie was johnny on the spot to answer any questions I had. The welcome basket and treats in the fridge were a welcome and thoughtful touch especially after a 10 hour trip. The only downside was having a motorcycle the gravel and hill that our cabin was on made trips in and out a bit treacherous at times. My suggestion would be to share with potential renters that information. Overall very good place to stay, especially for those that like a more private experience away from the hustle and bustle.

We indicate in our VRBO description and in our confirmation information that the cabins are located "less than a mile from Highway 16 (mostly gravel and well-maintained)" and the photos of the drive show that it is gravel. There are two exterior photos that show that the cabin is on an incline/above the main drive. Cozy Place
We really enjoyed staying at Yak Ridge Cabin. The cabin is clean and has everything you need. There's even board games and books for your spare time. It is centrally located - close to everything yet nestled in quiet woods full of deer, fawns and wild turkeys that we loved to watch at dusk and dawn. Trully a hidden gem in the Black Hills. We highly recommend!

Home away from Home
We loved everything about this cozy and welcoming cabin. It was the best place to relax after long busy days exploring! There were so many special touches like the farm fresh eggs, goodie basket, and all the books and movies. The location seemed great for everything we did. My kids were sad to leave, and we hope to come back someday. Don't hesitate to hook this little gem!

We loved everything about the cabin and the location. It was a little small for a family of 4 but we made it work. :) This place is in a wonderful setting, very quiet, and with some wild life around...we saw deer and turkeys by our cabin. We highly recommend it.

Yak Ridge is nicely tucked away from the main roads but centrally located for all the tourist towns and parks. Julie is a wonderful host and the accommodations were perfect for our needs. Highly recommend!

We had a very relaxing getaway in cabin #2. It was even stocked with nice extras-fluffy robes, bath essentials, and treats to eat. It was so nice and we really enjoyed the beautiful cabin and quiet relaxing surroundings. A perfect getaway!

Peaceful experience
Really enjoyed lighting the campfire each night as we looked up at the star filled sky. Woke up to deer grazing by the cabin. Cabin was cozy and well furnished. Nice break from the city life.

Beautiful property!
This is a gorgeous property surrounded by the mountains and woods! Lots of wildlife and we enjoyed beautiful fall colors! The cabin is clean and has all the listed amenities! Julie answered any questions asap. It was very easy to get to local attractions and we enjoyed the scenery on each drive!

Wonderful and beautiful place to stay
Arrived late so wasn’t able to set up fire and roast s’mores over the fire pit with my family. So arrive with daylight b/c the cabin sits nicely in the woods. The inside decor is top notch. New everything. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. All the pans, utensils and spices you need for a meal. The attention to detail, such as the outside hanging flower planters made the cabin warm and comfortable as a home.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights. We loved the cabin. It had everything we needed to be comfortable and is stylishly decorated. I think there may be some poison ivy close by but other than this it was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Great cabin very close to attractions. Wonderful extra touches. Quiet, private and a perfect home base near Rushmore and Keystone. Lacking nothing. Would not hesitate to return. Did not meet Julie but spoke with her a couple times and we had everything we needed. Great star viewing at night from the fire ring. Comfortable bed.

Our first visit to beautiful SD was only made better by this sweet, cozy cabin tucked away on a hillside in the black hills. My husband and I loved everything about it.....the size, location, amenities, decor. It was that perfect little rustic cabin that we dreamed about getting away to from our hectic lives. Everything we could have needed or wanted for a comfortable stay was in the cabin, and then some! We will be back!

Cozy cabin tucked away in the woods near attractions
Absolutely perfect little cabin down a short gravel road, nestled in the hills and trees. We were minutes from Keystone, but felt totally insulated from all the traffic and tourists! We had deer and other wildlife visiting us every day! The cabin was clean and comfy and furnished with everything you could need. If anything was needed, the owners are right down the road and happy to help! We were greeted with a wonderful bowl of treats and farm fresh eggs in the refrigerator. Also, fresh flowers on the table. There was a small bookshelf stocked with games, movies, books, and many brochures and maps for local attractions. Julie, the host, was super friendly and gave us a short tour of the farm. Unfortunately, the yaks were out in the back 40 somewhere so we didn't get to see them. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the hustle bustle, but yet minutes away from everything you might want to visit!!

Cute little cabin
Great location and very clean. We had great communication with the host. There are 5 cabins total, which are fairly close together. We didn't feel crowded, but definitely heard and saw our neighbors. Awesome climbing area behind our cabin, with a view in one direction of a little meadow. This property is across the road from the Cosmos Mystery Area. It isn't loud, but there is quite a bit of traffic. All in all a great place to stay that isn't along the hyway! Owner is super responsive and you'll have a great stay.

Lovely cabin and great location
We loved this place. It was cozy and private. There are other cabins nearby but we still had our privacy. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. There was a lovely welcome gift as well as a half dozen farm fresh eggs awaiting us. It’s location is near all the Black Hills attractions. Great family vacation in the Black Hills!
My wife and two young girls had a blast during our five night stay at Yak Ridge in the Black Hills! The cabin was smaller than what we're used to, but it had everything we needed. I don't think I'd recommend the cabin if you have older children, but they have four other larger cabins that would have more than enough room. We really appreciated the central location of Yak Ridge, as it cut down on the drive time to many of the Black Hills attractions. The only thing that needs updated in the cabin is the TV. We watched a few movies at night, and you had to sit at the perfect angle to see the TV without the image being distorted. Other than that, everything was awesome. Thanks for a great stay!!!

The cabins are very nice and well equipped. The close proximity to all of the sites in the Black Hills is a major plus. We had our 11 year old granddaughter with us and she never got bored, enjoyed the campfires at night.

Cozy Getaway
Comfy and cozy, away from the traffic, people, and noise. Perfect location. I enjoyed my morning coffee outside every morning to the sound of birds and small animals, not traffic and hustle and bustle. The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation and provided a getaway from all of the other tourists. It was the perfect place to have some down time and recharge for the next day's adventures.

Cabin was very pleasant, clean and well stocked; we enjoyed our stay very much. Everything you need is provided except, of course, the food. The location is very convenient to all the local sightseeing points. The grounds were nice and mainly quiet; we had deer come through on at least one occasion. The only down side is that this cabin faces directly at one of the other cabins on the property so if you sit in the chairs on the front porch you are looking directly at the other cabin.
