Both Hvolsvöllur village & Seljalandsfoss waterfall are in 10 minutes driving distance. The house is approx. 50m2 plus a roomy sleeping loft. In the sleeping loft there is 1 queen size bed and 3 single beds. Good kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine & a radio. Bed linen & towels are included. There is a shower in the bathroom. There is a terrace surrounding the cottage. Free Wifi. \*What to do and see\* Lava Vulcano & Earthquake Center, Hvolsvöllur, 15 km. The LAVA Volcano & Earthquake Center reveals the epic forces of nature that shape our planet and created Iceland only 20 million years ago. The center features an interactive educational exhibition that displays a collection of artifacts, films and graphics from various volcano eruptions that have occurred in the past century. Njáls Saga Center, Hvolsvöllur, 15 km. The Saga Centre in Hvolsvöllur offers a unique Njal´s Saga exhibition, where Njals Saga, the most famous of the medieval Sagas of Iclanders is Introduced in several languages. It was nestled about 10 minutes off of 1 passing some cows and sheep to get to the location. About 15 minutes away was a kronan grocery store and gas. It is so beautifully and comfortably appointed. Everything from the cozy and comfy beds to the outdoor grill. We enjoyed baking a cake in the oven and sitting on the beautiful deck watching the sunset colors over the mountain glaciers in the distance. The cabin is very comfortable for 4 and could easily hold a few more. Out in the country, away from the crowds - this is the perfect place to settle down and relax for a few days.
