This is to prevent credit card fraud and is meant to protect you as the renter and us as hosts. DEPOSIT We require a $300 deposit for each reservation, which will be processed 3 days before your arrival. The home is set amongst a mature forest, providing a lovely backdrop and views from the windows. Speaking of windows....the home has expansive windows that bring in lots of light. The kitchen is well-equipped and well-designed. The bedrooms are very nice, offering good space for 2 adults each. The dining room would fit at least 10 people, and has a lovely view. Three critiques Front patio full of leaves and cobwebs Front door locked different to open. Would not open. Outlet in the front room near the bookshelf facing the patio spark when I plugged in my cell phone charger and burnt out the charger. Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Styling of house was beautifully staged with wonderful Mid-century pieces and unique art work. Great location. The Brighthouse team was very helpful when we needed them or had questions.Cons: When we arrived, the front entrance was very dirty with leaves and spider webs everywhere. The back patio and table weren't even usable. It was covered in leaves and the table was all dirty. There were also dead limbs everywhere.The lighting was not great, it was very dark in all the bedrooms. In most of the rooms there was no overhead lighting, so you had to walk through the dark to turn a light on next to the bed (triping hazard). The place was not cleaned well. There were 2 large what looked like a Cockroach or Palmetto bugs on the floors, and the bathroom counters felt dirty. When we asked for an ironing board and iron, we were surprised for the size of the house that it only had a table top ironing board. They should have a full size ironing board in one of the tall cabinets. Lastly, I've been to a lot of VRBO types of homes and I was surprised that there wasn't a welcome kit that had a booklet with all the information about the house, wi-fi info and areas of interest around Chapel Hill. Also, almost all the homes I've been in provide you with a nice little welcome basket with coffee and treats. There was nothing like that. It's just a nice gesture. ##### Sebastian P. Communication with the owner was excellent. She was willing to make everything perfect for us. The property is beautiful and the owner has cherished furnishings inside. We appreciated her efforts to maintain this type of house, however, at times, it caused us to feel a little intimidated and not able to completely relax. We were restricted to two rooms to have any food or drinks. The house has a no shoe policy but we were unaware of it prior to the day of travel, therefore we did not have notice to pack comfortable indoor slippers to wear. A multi-speaker Sonos system is promoted as unique to the property, but we were unable to make it work. The TV has no local cable or a streaming service available with popular channels (ESPN, ABC, NBC, etc.) It was a wonderful house for a visit to the Chapel Hill area and conveniently located near campus. We enjoyed our visit and the owner could not have been more accommodating. She offered to come by to help with any issues, but we had a limited amount of time and wanted to spend it with each other. I would recommend this property to others with the caveat of knowing the issues I listed beforehand. That is the reason it is rated 4 instead of 5. ##### Dorothy K. Everything was great, plenty of space for our group of 3 couples. Every single room was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals. Deck in the back was a great place to hang out! Owner was great and very quick to respond to any questions. We were in town for a cousins wedding, crazy coincidence this house was his grandparents house. We had no idea when we booked the rental, so that was a fun and special surprise! ##### David N.
