"This cottage was the absolute perfect get-away for a long weekend with family and friends. The house is stocked with everything you could ever need to enjoy your stay (blankets and pillows for comfort, oil, salt, pepper, coffee, pots and pans etc. in the kitchen). The delicious wine left by the owners was much appreciated. The location is perfect for walking into town on pedestrian only country paths making ti safe for kids and dogs. "Nice and clean, well decorated but small. Very noisy road, and very hot throughout our stay. As the inside temperature never dropped below 24 degrees (19th to 24th June), we tried to leave bedroom windows open at night, but only did so for an hour on the first night, as there is so much traffic for most of the night, roaring up and down, so not had a lot of sleep. Took coffee bags with us as no coffee maker, as per previous reviews. Power shower was pretty weak but sufficed. Very small...

"We had a lovely week at California Halt. The weather was great, so we made full use of the beach up the road. The location of the cottage was ideal and it was very clean. The owners had thought of every detail to make sure we had everything we needed."
