"We were disappointed in the Trails Motel. I was reminded of motels that my family stopped at in the 50's and 60's; while some of the features in the room had been updated there wasn't much change. If we find ourselves in Lone Pine again, we would definitely be looking for somewhere else to stay."

"This was the perfect retreat to come home to after an exhausting day of hiking. The rooms were clean and stocked with linens, kitchen was fully equipped with appliances and utensils for cooking, bathroom was spacious and stocked with towels and toiletries. We will definitely return!"

"Room was clean, parking was chaotic, steps into and out of the room were not easy to get up and down for a couple of octogenarians."

"The place was clean the air conditioner worked perfectly. The person at the desk was very helpful. We got there late, and I asked him if anyone in town would deliver food. He said no. It is a small town. A few minutes later, he knocked on our door to let us know the restaurants might close if we waited too long. Thankfully, he did we made it just before the store closed."

"The convenience of the tents and cots already being up and ready-to-go is great however, inside the tent was dirty. The concrete floor hadn’t been swept, the walls of the tent were dirty with accumulated dirt, dust, and hair. The bed had mouse droppings on it when we arrived. We get we were camping but when paying for a ready-to-go tent, we did expect it to be clean. The site was adequate and came with a fire pit and picnic table. The restrooms were close by but they too need some attention. The women’s restroom had a lot of spiders, mostly daddy long legs but also a wolf spider. I went in and knocked down all the spider webs as they were surrounding the toilets but they were back within a couple hours. The sinks were covered in dirty underwear and trash people left behind. It did eventually get cleaned the next day. There is a separate outhouse with a flushable toilet that was much cleaner. The staff were nice at the general store and restaurant. Fuel prices were the most reasonable in Death Valley. The general store offers ice and firewood. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes."

"We traveled with our dog and the yard was perfect. Comfortable home and definitely appreciated the choice of 3 coffee machines. Easy access/short drive to hikes in the Alabama hills. "

"We truly appreciated the friendliness and flexibility of the host in accommodating our early check-in and late checkout requests. it made our trip much easier. The house was very clean and well maintained. Having reliable air conditioning and washer and dryer available made our stay incredibly comfortable. Well, the futon in the living room is a nice addition to the space. We did find it a bit uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on, though it would likely be perfectly fine for a child. We also noticed that it can get a little noisy being so close to the main road, but it was not a major issue for SOS. We were pleased with the accommodations and look forward to booking with you again next year."
