The best time to go to Quiquijana is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.During these months, you'll experience clear skies and less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's outdoor attractions like the nearby Inca ruins and the stunning landscapes of the Ausangate trek. The daytime temperatures are pleasant, typically ranging from 18-20°C (64-68°F), though evenings can be cool. This period is great for those who want to spend their days hiking or engaging in other outdoor activities without the disruption of heavy rain. While the dry season is popular, the shoulder months of April and November can also be a good option. You might encounter occasional rain showers, but the landscapes are particularly lush, and there are generally fewer visitors. This can be appealing for travellers who prefer a more tranquil experience and don't mind a bit of unpredictable weather. For those planning to visit the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), the dry season is particularly recommended. The clear weather ensures the vibrant colours of the mountain are at their most striking, and the trails are easier to navigate.
