"Check-in was slow, there is no airflow in the lodge itself. Very hot. I verified before leaving the desk I was a top floor room, they respond yes and I got to the room….bottom floor. Had to go back and get new room. The front desk person was VERY kind and polite. I got a new room. Problem is it was a VERY old room that desperately needs a refresh and smelled musty. It’s ok, slept with some windows open. Bed comfy, it was clean.
At night, it was very quiet which was nice for sleep. Having said that, you can hear people up early rolling suitcases, their dogs barking, or people coming and going for a morning walk or hike.
The restaurant staff was 50/50. Some of the staff was wonderful, responsive and helpful. Others were exactly the opposite. At times you couldn’t find a staff member for assistance.
The food was good for two days. The last day it was not good at all and the menu misrepresented what we actually got with no explanation from staff.
On our final day staff seemed more interested in turning dining room and rooms for new guests than servicing the ones still on property.
The tour guide was informative, helpful and fun. We enjoyed the tour. Having said that, the tour was misrepresented as we were told by phone there would be a picnic lunch provided. That didn’t happen.
The lodge does not provide enough photos or descriptions of rooms and accommodation before choosing a room. When you call you get a complete description and information. "
