We had a nice little stay in a chalet at Auberge-Baker. The breakfast was lovely. The staff were amazing! The only concern was that the building seemed to be a little tilted causing a few issues with closing doors and walking in the chalet. The road is full of history. Be sure to leave enough time to walk a good stretch of the road and read and see the historic stories. As I finish this review I stress again THE STAFF WERE AMAZING!
We had a wonderful stay at Auberge Baker and would happily return. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help us throughout our stay, especially when it came to accommodating our child.
One of the highlights was the brunch, which was delicious and clearly prepared with care. Many of the ingredients appeared to be fresh and locally sourced. A small but memorable detail was the excellent coffee provided in the room.
The property itself is located in a beautiful historic house, with plenty of off-road parking. The rooms and common lounge areas are furnished with period furniture and decorations. Staying here felt a little like stepping back into the late 19th or early 20th century, while still having the essential amenities of the 21st century.
The auberge is surrounded by farmland and sits in a quintessential Québec village. It is conveniently located near Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica and Montmorency Falls, although Old Québec is more than a 30-minute drive away. For us, the peaceful countryside setting was well worth the distance.
The auberge also has its own restaurant. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to have dinner there, and try the authentic Québec/French cuisine in its menu. It is definitely something we plan to try the next time we are in the area.
Staff was very accommodating and breakfast was wonderful. Dinner service was equally great!
My travel partners from Barbados had never been overseas, never mind enjoying such comfortable and delicious accommodations.
Kudos for giving my young travel companion endless hot chocolate and they revelled over the delicious crepes (which they had never experienced) which your lovely chef prepared to no end for them.
We hope to visit again one day, thank you!
The Auberge is phenomenal with comfy beds and clean, spacious and quiet rooms. The hosts could not be nicer and the meals were full of delicacies and unbelievable delicious.
Very charming hotel. The hotel is unique in that it is older, I believe built in 1925. Our bedroom had a rustic look, very cozy. Food and staff both excellent!
The facility is an old building with character and excellent food. The breakfast provided was simple but top notch.
A very welcoming and friendly staff.
Wonderful place with an excellent restaurant! Check-in and check-out wasn't great and no assistance getting suitcase up & down the stairs (I'm elderly), but everything else was very good. Waiter at dinner was very pleasant & helpful. Lovely location and interiors!
The building, the rooms, the service and the food were everything a traveller would wish. Our stay was exquisite. Our server Pierre for dinner was first class and so was our breakfast chef/server although i don’t have her name.
Thank you
We stayed one night in the little stand-alone cottage on the property. It was a little place with a lot of character! Rustic, but well-renovated and very clean and carefully arranged. We were traveling on a tight budget, so didn't try dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast spread in the auberge's beautiful dining room was excellent (fruit salad, fresh bread, deliciois crepes and more) and the server was very welcoming and attentive. Would love to stay here again!
Amazing stay—we'll never forget it! Experiences like this are incredibly rare to find. The hotel perfectly captures the charm and authenticity of a historic property while providing exceptional hospitality. The breakfast was also the best we had during our trip to Canada. We highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates historic, authentic hotels and a truly memorable experience.
Location was good..the main building was old and unique, lots of history… very good breakfast was included as well. Our room could use some updates as it still had a tube tv. Was also surprised at check out that an option for a tip on the total cost of room was given as there was an envelope in the room for a tip. Overall it was a good stay.
This place is truly a gem!
It's a very old building and has so much charm.
We loved our bedroom, cute and quaint with thick stone window openings and wooden beams and floors. Small bathroom with a large tub. Coffee maker and fridge in room.
There is a large common room with a kitchenette as well a covered porch for 2nd floor guests. Be aware that the stairs are somewhat steep.
We don't speak French but the staff spoke English and were very welcoming and attentive.
Dinner was fabulous. we each opted for the 5 course meal and enjoyed every bite, even the blood sausage cooked in Calvados! Authentic French Canadian food.
Breakfast is extra and had a nice assortment of cold cuts, bread, eggs and pastries.
Highly recommend!
