"Great hotel in the heart of Aswan. I was welcomed with a hibiscus tea and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and modern. Located right next to Aswan souks as well as a few restaurants with English menus. Very happy I chose to stay here."

"While I enjoyed the cruise, I should note that 1. All numbers listed for the boat were disconnected and my messages through expedia were never answered. Expedia staff were also unable to reach anyone associated with the cruise. As the result, it was very difficult for me to find out the location of departure dock for the cruise. I eventually got the information from my guide from the previous cruise. Movenpick hotel in Aswan is not associated with the cruise in any way and was not able to provide assistance. This issue may be related to booking through Expedia, but their prices are drastically lower than those quoted by other travel agencies. The boat is quite old. It is very well kept, however. The staff was very helpful. Sightseeing and meals were well organized and ran smoothly. The pool was cold, but the hot tub was enjoyable. Due to recent events, there were few fellow travelers on the boat. I hope they survive this downturn. "

"This would have easily been a 5-star review but for the inaccuracy of the property location listing. This property is located on Elephantine Island, not in Aswan proper as listed. If you’re packing with big roller bags, be aware of the walk to this guesthouse. It’s all dirt paths. That said, everything else was great. The place is clean, spacious and quiet. The host’s mom was as sweet and caring as could be. She cooked delicious breakfasts every morning and even volunteered to do some laundry for us. This Nubian island is an amazing cultural experience that should be on everyone’s bucket list. "
