The exclusive property with its park-like gardens and extensive terraces offers absolute peace and tranquillity in a completely secluded location. Perched on a hill, you can enjoy the view over the lush vegetation and a plot of 20,000 square meters, surrounded by fig and olive trees, succulents and countless palm trees. A long cypress driveway leads to the house - past the Mediterranean gardens and the surrounding untouched subtropical nature. The light-flooded villa with various architectural elements from the 1930s is surrounded by terraces that extend over several levels and invite you to relax with a variety of seating options. The spectacular pool terrace with a crescent-shaped infinity pool and the pool house designed in the Moorish style of the 1930s has the atmosphere of a movie set, perfect for enjoying the unique sunsets in the sea and the endless starry sky. A romantic water lily pond with blue water lilies is integrated into the dreamlike natural backdrop. Modern and classic sculptures by various artists can be found throughout the grounds. The adjoining picturesque panoramic terrace is the ideal place for a sundowner. High-quality materials also define the interior design of the house, where whitewashed walls contrast with the warm wooden frames of the doors and windows. The stylish interior design is complemented by bright primary colors that provide a fitting backdrop for the design classics and Bauhaus furniture. The antique terracotta floors from France harmonize with Le Corbusier and modern accents. Wall tiles from Morocco, hand-picked North African art and carefully selected furnishing elements complete the ambience with great attention to detail. The silver-plated washbasins in the bathrooms were handmade in Marrakech. The villa has 3 double bedrooms on two floors, 3 bathrooms and a large living and dining area in the basement with adjoining covered outdoor terrace. Indoor and outdoor areas seem to merge into the unique surrounding vegetation and the endless blue of the ocean. The thick, partly natural stone walls keep the house warm in winter and cool in summer. The central heating and solar-heated pool also make it possible to stay all year round. Villa Botánica is located in Puntagorda, a picturesque village in the northwest of La Palma, a heart-shaped island with secluded beaches, volcanoes and dense forests. Located between the ravines of Garome and Izcagua, Puntagorda is surrounded by pine and almond trees and is famous for its almond blossom in January and February. Visit the Almendro en Flor festival in February with music, dancing and free almond and palm wine or the patron saint festival in August in honor of San Mauro Abad. The Barranco de Izcagua and the forest of El Fayal are highly recommended excursion destinations nearby. A popular market, the Mercadillo, is held in the village at weekends, selling local produce, wine and cheese as well as handicrafts. Hiking trails lead directly from the villa into the unspoiled nature of the greenest island in the Canary Islands. We said before we arrived at the villa we would be happy if it was 50% as good as the photographs. What we didn’t expect was it was so much bigger, better, and more beautiful than we could possibly imagine. The gardens are absolutely stunning, the house and interior design are just perfect. The attention to detail and quality is exceptional. Everywhere you look offers a feast for the eyes. The pool provides the most amazing view at all times, although particularly spectacular at sunset. The entire property is designed with comfort, relaxation and appreciation of the beautiful surroundings. The house manager Tina was so very helpful, especially when we had a minor road accident and she came with her husband to give us a tow! We loved every moment of staying at this unique property and are planning a return visit next year. No hesitation in recommending HIGHL! ##### Stacey H. The villa is in a fantastic location with gorgeous views over the Atlantic. The gardens are beautiful and very well presented and there are numerous areas to sit outside. Overall, the property is well secluded in very peaceful surroundings, yet only a few minutes from the centre of Puntagorda where there is a good shop which has all the food and drink we needed. The garden has a lovely pond which attracted dragonflies and there are lots of lizards that bask on the rocks in the afternoon sun. We've just had a great stay for two weeks stay at Villa Botanico : the villa itself is really beatifull, large, and very well equiped, and extremely clean. The garden is huge, with many colored flowers, tropical plants, trees and a superb swimming pool, huge, amazing views on the blue blue sea and the moutains back. It's all very quiet, perfect for resting and living in peace in nature, almost in a dream ! The village of Puntagorda is 2 minutes drive with shops and all stuff. From that point you can visit the mountains, the forests, or go down at the beaches (Tazacorte for instance) or anywhere in the Island. We loved that place because of the quality of the villa, the garden, the swimming pool, and the efficiency of the employees (Marion the lady who welcomed us is very friendly, the gardeners who look after the garden every 2 days, the housewifes etc...). We'd really appreciated La Palma Island for the authenticity, no mass tourism, very calm, real people, real life in contryside. We hope to come back soon, meanwhile we have to go back to work ! The villa and the surrounding property are exactly as described -- a paradise for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty, with an extra dose of Moroccan touch. We particularly loved the exquisite and lush garden area, providing several shaded places with small tables and chairs. The extensive pool terrace is equally terrific -- the site of many attempts to capture the daily manifestations of each stunning sunset. Stayed 7 nights in Mar 2021 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Artur R. 19 Feb 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Gartenoase Wenn man drei Wochen in der Villa Botanic verweilt, hat man Gelegenheit alle Nuancen, die La Palma ausmachen, intensiv zu erleben. Sonne relativ kalt, bei circa 10 Grad, Regen, Sturm Nebel, bei circa 15 Grad, Sonne, bei Temperaturen um 25 Grad Celsius. Egal welches Wetter vorherrschte, die Villa hat sich immer wieder als wunderbares Domizil erwiesen. Als erstes wäre die Kombination von Kunst, Handwerk und Natur zu nennen. Um mit dem letzteren zu beginnen: diesen Garten muss man erlebt haben, erinnert an wunderbare alte Gärten in Italien. Immer wieder neue Eindrücke durch Formen, Farben, Flora, Fauna, der Atlantik. Man fühlt sich berührt, von dieser hörbaren Sille, von Bildung. Das Haus: von Aussen: sehenswert,besonders. Seine Architektur harmoniert in Farbe und Form mit den Nebengebäuden, den umfangreichen Terrassen, der Poolanlage. Da war jemand am Werk mit der Hand für das Detail. Bei kaltem Wetter ist die Villa passabel heizbar, Holzöfen, Heizung. In der Jahreszeit gehört ein wohliges Frösteln mitunter dazu. Die Betten, die Küche, die Bäder, alles perfekt. Fazit: Wir sind sehr dankbar, dass wir die Villa nutzen konnten, Ausstattung mit Kunstwerken , Kunsthandwerk und Gartenkunst vollkommen aussergewöhnlich, eventuell sogar sehr selten unter solchen Bedingungen mietbar. ##### Artur R. L'endroit est superbe, à couper le souffle! Nous avons fait plein de randonnées suivies par une détente dans la piscine. Man könnte ihn nur in Superlativen beschreiben. Das Haus: zum Wohlfühlen - wunderbar eingerichtet, bequeme Betten, in der Küche alles vorhanden. Und alles wird von Carola extrem liebevoll gepflegt. Das Grundstück: einfach traumhaft. Man braucht Tage, um alles zu entdecken. Gärtner Oscar hält alles in Ordnung, ohne dass man seine Anwesenheit bemerkt. Der Ausblick auf's Meer und den Sonnenuntergang: unvergleichlich! Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern: sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Man hat sofort Vertrauen! Von den vielen gemieteten Ferienhäusern ist diese Villa rasant auf Platz 1 vorgerückt. Beim Abschied gab's Tränen - das will bei uns etwas heissen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, nach den Wanderungen war es " wie nach Hause kommen." Geschmackvolle Einrichtung, gute Betreuung. Ausstattung i.O, komplett. Die Organgenpresse hat schon Kultcharakter. Traumhaftes Anwesen, ein Garten für die Sinne, Tee-Ecke unter Palmen am Lotus-Teich, Sundown am Pool mit Blick auf den Atlantik, nachts ein Sternenzelt ohne Lichtsmog - einfach schön, einfach - gut! Anfahrt etwas tricky und holprig. Versorgungslage gut, 3 Supermärkte im Ort. Restaurants im Ort eher mäßig. Gleich oberhalb des Ortes beginnen Wandermöglichkeiten in Pinienwäldern, sogar ganz lange Touren bis zum Los Muchachos beginnen hier. Insgesamt ist Villa Botanico etwas für Naturfreunde, Selbstversorger, die Sinne anregend und zur Meditation in der Natur einladend. ##### Werner S. Yes, the pool terrace is gorgeous! The most impressive feature of this place, however, is that literally everything, until the smallest detail, is beautiful. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many renowned hotels and residences. Never before have we seen a house and garden in which every room and every object and corner were in such uncompromising good taste. We were not particularly lucky with the weather but it did not matter. It was a pleasure to stay at home in this oasis of beauty and style. Bravo to the housekeeper, Carola, as well. Contacting her was easy, and she is as efficient as she is friendly and welcoming. Dann der erste Blick über den Garten, die Poollandschaft und über das Meer und wir fragen uns: Wie kann es so etwas schönes geben? Das Anwesen ist liebevoll gepflegt und lädt dazu ein mit allen Sinnnen die Schönheit und Ruhe zu genießen. Wir kochen sehr gerne und waren hoch erfreut über die Kücheneinrichtung, der es an nichts fehlte. Die Abwicklung der Buchung war einfach, schnell und professionell. Die Besitzer der Villa Botanico gaben das Gefühl bei eventuellen Schwierigskeiten sofort zu helfen. Der freundliche und herzliche Empfang und die Fürsorge von Carola rundeten unseren Aufenthalt ab. Viele Touren haben wir auf dieser schönen Insel gemacht, waren aber immer wieder froh in unser "Zuhause" zurückzukommen, um einen zauberhaften Abend hoch über dem Meer am beheizten Poll oder auf der Terrasse zu genießen. Der dezent beleuchtete Garten, die schönen Sonnenuntergänge und der sagenhafte Sternenhimmel bescheren eine wundervolle Atmosphäre. Das Restaurant "Azul" mit seinem außergewöhnlichen Ambiente (gehobene Küche) und auch das Restaurant "Pino de La Virgen" in Puntagorda (einheimische Küche) sollte man nicht auslassen. Wir sind begeistert! Die zwei Wochen in der Villa Botanico waren ein Traum. Wir haben jeden Moment genossen in diesem schönen Haus mit seinem zauberhaften Garten. Das Haus ist sorgältig gebaut, stilvoll eingerichtet und wird liebevoll gepflegt. Die Lage ist unübertroffen. Die Pool-Terasse ist wirklich einfach spektakulär. Die Stimmungen hoch über dem Atlantik, die Sonnenuntergänge und die sternenklaren Nächte in dieser ruhigen Umgebung sind umwerfend. Wir blieben oft den ganzen Tag “zuhause” und fühlten uns wie im Paradies. Wir wurden vom Vermieter einwandfrei beraten und betreut - von der Buchung bis zu den Ausgehtipps. Zum Beispiel passte das Restaurant Azul in El Castillo wunderbar in unserer Ferienerlebis: eine besonders gute Küche mit aussergewöhnlichen Ambiente. Vor Ort wurden wir herzlichst von Carola, der Hausverwalterin, in Empfang genommen, betreut und verabschiedet. Wir können dieses Haus nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. ##### Jeanmarc H. Mit viel Liebe zum Datail haben die Besitzer dieses Haus renoviert und eingerichtet. Es ist sehr großzügig geschnitten und bietet sehr viel Platz. Sämtliche Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt. Es ist unglaublich ruhig dort, für die absolute Tiefenentspannung sehr geeignet. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und handeln sofort, sollte es einmal nicht so laufen wie gewohnt. Der Garten ist fantastisch und sehr gepflegt. Der Pool ist ein absoluter Traum. Nach einer langen Wanderung bietet er die beste Entspannung am Abend. Es lohnt sich, auch einmal den ganzen Tag vor Ort zu bleiben. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind wunderbar, und beim klaren Nachthimmel wird man zum Sternengucker. Der kleine Ort selbst liegt ein wenig außerhalb, beim abendlichen Spaziergang sollte man die Taschenlampen nicht vergessen. Zu empfehlen ist das Restaurant "Jardín de los Naranjos", wo wir sehr gut und günstig speisen konnten. Wanderungen lassen sich auch von der Villa aus organisieren. Weitere Freizeitmöglichkeiten wie der Roque de los Muchachos, die Sternwarte, die Caldera, Los Llanos oder Tazacorte sind gut erreichbar. Alles in allem ein unvergesslicher, wunderbarer Ort zum Loslassen und Entspannen. Auch für Familien mit Kindern, die schwimmen können, sehr empfehlenswert.
