Don’t stay here. I never leave negative reviews, but my stay here was traumatic. First I arrive and the only information given to me by Sara (who comes back to haunt me later) is “come back if you want to upgrade your room view for a fee” and I was left to figure the rest out on my own. Nothing about which facilities I’m allowed to use at this massive group of hotels (where if you’re staying at the aquamarine you’re treated like a second class citizen because it’s not one of the “luxury” resorts). Then, I realize on my first morning at the resort that my door is broken and hadn’t locked all night despite being pushed all the way and appearing closed. I am a 29 year old woman traveling alone, so this was shocking for me. When I went to the front desk to inquire about a room that wasn’t so far away from the rest of the resort because I was feeling unsafe (the resort is very dark at night) they said I’d have to pay. Then, several times my key stopped working meaning more long trips back and forth on the dark property to get a new key multiple times per day/night. When I explained to Sara my frustrations and my safety concerns she just said “I understand.” In a shock to no one I had a DISTURBING run in with a maintenance man on my last night. Lastly, when trying to use the jets on the bathtub I was completely covered in a moldy black sludge. This is not an exaggeration, it came out through the jets and covered me. This is not on the cleaning staff, this is a maintenance issue.
