This is a lovely place, but I can't give it a great review because on the day we checked-in no one was available at the hotel to answer the phone. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. For whatever reason we could not find our email confirmation the day we were scheduled to arrive and we called and called for 5 hours straight on a Saturday between 12noon-5pm and no one answered the phone. Because we were traveling 5 hours by car to an extremely remote location and could not confirm our stay we were forced to book another hotel that night. We finally received an email in the evening from the owner, and we were able to check in the next day, but the owner herself directed her staff not to give us any discount for the inconvenience we experienced trying to check-in to the hotel. The staff was absolutely lovely, but the owner should know better that if you want to charge $1000 a night and be a 5-star hotel you have to give 5-star customer service which means answering the phone on the day guests check in. Next time I travel to this remote area of Osa I will visit LagunaVista Villas or Lapis Rios resort.
