My only trouble was not with the Property, but with the entire family that took over the place. They were not at the property the evening before. The next morning I went to make coffee. Every pot, pan, and kettle was taken over by this group. Inconsiderate of the fact that this was a “hostel-type” property. No way to move around. I was looked at like I was an Intruder! I was very uncomfortable. The other travelers were most gracious and kind. As was the manager. I would stay again." Road to the hotel is very slow, bumpy, and pothole-ridden. 4x4 highly recommended and the road wil add 20 minutes a each way to your trip in and out of the hotel, so plan accordingly. All of the lodge buildings are very sympathetically designed, and blend well with the surroundings. Everywhere is very clean and maintained to a high standard. We loved sitting on the bar stools and watching the monkeys and morpho butterflies. All staff were polite, friendly and helpful, and assisted us with booking excursions. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented, as were the cocktails! We loved the quirky bed in our cabin, and enjoyed sitting on the veranda and watching all the wildlife in the creek below - juvenile caimans, turtles, lizards, dragonflies, and my absolute favourites - hummingbirds. Listening to the orchestra of sounds at night was at night was fantastic! We did a night walk and we're amazed at our guide's knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to spot creatures that we would never have seen without him! The trails within the grounds are easy to follow, and there is so much to see - including the resident sloth - ask the staff and they will point him out to you. I was thrilled to see so many hummingbirds. Danta Corcovado Lodge is a great place, and all staff work hard to ensure that guests are well looked after and enjoy their stay." Zayro was very accomodating once he found me a quarter mile up the really heinous dirt road since there doesn't seem to be a reception area. it's a 20 minute ride in from the paved road on one of the gnarlier dirt roads I've been on and there is no food or drink once you get there, so bring what you need."
