Newly renovated so clean and in top condition.
I booked late so the price @ $430 is outrageous for a Hilton garden.
Bed sheets and pillows should be better quality - less polyester
Upon arrival, it was confusing how to enter the driveway. We quickly cut across traffic but there is a busy sidewalk and busy intersection as soon as you try to enter the property. The front desk person was alone but it was just a short wait to be checked in. She could have been more friendly, welcoming but she wasn't mean. Other staff could have also been more friendly. I guess after a long drive, it would have been nice to be greeted with a warm welcome. Remember your license plate number, you'll need that if you will park there. There is a parking fee of $32 (I think for stay, but we only stayed one night). We parked in lower level of garage thinking it would be easier to get to lobby...nope. Stairs are only option down there; albeit only 3 or 4, but still. Felt safer parking down there though. Room was beautiful - all updated, nice TV, fridge, microwave, USB ports everywhere, clean, nice bathroom, soap/shampoo smelled so good, hair dryer, hot hot water, pretty quiet. Bathroom stays warm/hot with no exhaust fan. Had to pay a $50 deposit along with the parking fee. Super convenient to Amica arena, Federal Hill and lots of other Providence spots. I would stay here again.
I prepaid for this hotel using my One Key cash, I should have had a charge of $12.00 plus one nights parking at $32.00 for a total of $44.00. my card was charged $168.00 with no explanation of the charges and now I can't seem to find anyone at the hotel that wants to explain it to me. I will not be using Hilton Garden Inn again.
The coffee machine required reading instructions that were very difficult to read- in black on black inside the lid. We didn't know that the machine didn't measure the water for one cup and it overflowed. The gauge for filling is a tiny blurry device on the side, facing a wall, and is difficult to read anyway. The staff were very helpful with the problems, but gee whiz. Also, we were disappointed at the conditions for using wi-fi and also for TV, both of which we think should have been included in the price of an overnight. And we aren't told advance of the parking fee of $32 per night. The prices for food in "The Shop" were very steep. Our friends in another room had the same exact complaints.
I loved that it was right downtown and in close proximity to transportation, culinary options, shopping, and entertainment. The staff was quite helpful and warm.
