This was a fabulous base to explore Barbados. The house was exactly what we needed, was very well equipped and was in the perfect location. The hosts were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to return and would definitely stay there again.

This is such a great place to stay. Debbie the host is there to greet you and is there throughout the week if you need anything. I cant say enough about the views, surrounded by beatiful tropical flowers and then the sea. We will definitely be returning to this amazing island and this property.

The house is nicely decorated with all the amenities to make it feel like home. The property owners are attentive and responsible to your needs and interest. I'd come back and stay again

Very very well equipped, characterful, very comfortable, on edge of ocean ...Debbie the host is very pleasant and efficient. Have slightly marked down the 'location' score as the property (as are all other waterside properties in Fitts) is off the main road and traffic noise can be intrusive

We had the best time at Oceans! Debbie was such a warm host, providing a care package for us upon arrival and sourcing some much needed baby items (such as a playpen) for our stay. The beach right outside the cottage is a bit rocky from the coral, but if you walk 1 minute, there's a gorgeous white sand beach for swimming and snorkelling. We couldn't ask for better hosts and absolutely loved our stay here.

Close to local stores , restaurants and beaches. Bus stops right outside. There is some road noise but that is to be expected living right in town. The host/ owners were always available if needed. The patio was where we basically lived the whole time when we were not out and about. A very relaxing area for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy renting anywhere locally and exploring on your own.

Our stay in the Fitts Village Beach Cottage was wonderful. The beach and snorkling access is outstanding, and the area has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Our hosts were gracious, helpful and informative, and gave us great tips for attractions to not miss (Hunte's Gardens, Harrison's Cave, St Nicholas Abbey) and rum punch recipies. The accomodation are exactly as advertised with a great porch and roomy bedrooms with AC. There is some road / traffic noise, but we focused on the waves crashing on the beach a stones throw from the porch. Everyone in our group agreed that our stay here was too short, and would be comfortable returning for an extended vacation. We rented a car, and there is no place on the island that was too difficult to drive to. (Beware of some roads, and be ready to make quick decisions behind the wheel).

We had a wonderful stay at Oceans. Perfect location. Walking distance to grocery store and many places to eat. About 1/2 hr drive to many attractions in the area. For us the most important factor for this trip was to be on the water and Oceans did not disappoint. As stated in the listing this house is on a busy road so there is traffic noise. It did not bother us. Thanks again for opening up your home.

Had a great stay at oceans. Brian and Deb were really great. Every thing was great. The only thing I didn't care for was the road noise in front of the house but we live in the country so we're not accustom to much traffic. But probably not an issue for a person who lives in the city. Besides that it was all good. Enjoy your trip.

Oceans is a beautiful house just steps from a west coast beach. The house has everything necessary for a great stay--well-equipped kitchen, toiletries, lots of towels, snorkeling and swimming equipment. All you need to bring is your swimsuit and sunscreen! Jordans grocery store can be reached by a 5 minute walk on the beach or road and Holetown with lots of restaurants and another grocery store is just a short bus ride away. There was great snorkeling right off the beach. Debbie was an amazing host who went above and beyond to help us with details of our stay--car rental, boat tour reservation, etc. Her kindness and assistance made our stay especially pleasant.

Really enjoyed the three week holiday. Wonderful location right by the beach with plenty of places to visit nearby...Paynes Bay, Holetown, Speightstown, Bridgetown...all within a relatively short bus ride. The beaches and weather were just about perfect...a great escape from the misery of Britain in December! The house itself had everything we could possibly need including a VERY welcome pack which meant we didn't need to go shopping on the first day. Debbie was the perfect host, extremely helpful and even took us on a drive round the island! The only (small) downside was the traffic noise from the road outside...but this is a problem all along the west coast and not the fault of the property. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

Yes we could talk about cleanliness, attentiveness, even rum punch but what really stands out is the care and dedication Deb and Brian exude. Excellent location - excellent accomodations - Deb thinks of EVERYTHING anyone could need and has it provided. Truly felt like a home for our two week stay. Do follow the advice of other reviewers, they are spot on. If a little bird is patiently waiting while you eat breakfast, that is Jake. He will clean up your crumbs from the porch while you are at the beach! We even saw 7 Green Monkeys right in the yard, up to antics only monkeys can exhibit. Cheryl and Alan

Debbie,Brian and Rosie are outstanding hosts. From the time that you arrive to the time that you leave you feel like you are “Home away from Home” in an idyllic location. The cottage has everything that you need and more. We loved sitting on the verandah while looking and listening to the sounds of the ocean. As well, we enjoyed the sea breeze and picture perfect view on the sea wall. Very easy access to the beautiful sand beach, swimming and snorkelling. The busses were also easily accessible and easy to get around the island. The people of the island are also very friendly and helpful. Thank you Debbie and family for sharing your piece of paradise with us and your outstanding hospitality and goodies. We loved our stay at Oceans and will forever cherish our memories of our stay and already miss your beautiful home, our chats with Rosie, and the BEST Rum Punch on the Island. We hope to see you again and all the best wishes to you and your family Cherie and Jack (Winterpeg, Manitoba!)

My wife and I just recently spent a week at this property for our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a fabulous time! Debbie is very good at communicating every step of the way. When we arrived we found the house to be very clean and well appointed with all the amenities we could of asked for. Debbie was there to explain everything to us and answer any questions that we had. Both my wife and I really enjoyed The laid-back nature of this property. It is a great alternative to the resort scene, as it allowed us to really be able to get a taste of what the island is all about. It's very convenient, as it only takes a few steps to reach the beach. If you stay at this location you will definitely want to either rent some form of transportation, or just hire a taxi so that you can really get out and enjoy all the many things there is to see. Our anniversary trip was absolutely fabulous and I would highly recommend this property.

We have just returned from one of our best holidays ever. Debbie, Brian, children and Rosie are the ultimate hosts, there if you need them but not intrusive. The beach house is amazing, we will definitely miss the beautiful view everyday from the wrap around deck and lazing in the hammock. The house is equipped with everything and more that you will need for your stay and the decor is beautiful. Having a beach on the doorstep is the icing on the cake where you can snorkel on the reef with such a variety of fish and a turtle or have a ‘sea bath’ on the more sandy part. There wasn’t a day we didn’t partake in both. The house is perfectly situated on a quiet stretch of beach and we were lucky enough to watch hundreds of baby turtles released within walking distance. If you don’t want to take a bus then we recommend you hire a car and get to see all that Barbados has to offer. Thank you for your hospitality and hope to be back again soon, Emma, Tony and Will x

Oceans Beach House is in a perfect location for swimming and snorkelling, which our family of three enjoy. My husband swam with a turtle, which we saw most mornings and afternoons and I saw many colourful fish including a Parrot Fish. The house is equipped with beach chairs, snorkelling gear and plenty of beach towels. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise especially the homemade Rum Punch, the best I tasted on the island (thank you Debbie for replacing this when I ran out). We loved sitting on the decking watching the birds including a humming bird and the boats sail by in the morning and afternoon. We spent 5 of our 13 days holiday on the South Coast (St Lawrence Gap) but couldn't swim in the sea due to the Sea Weed and rough waters, so couldn't wait to get back to "Oceans Beach House" to end the last few days of our holiday relaxing and snorkelling. Thank you Debbie and Brian for letting us stay at your wonderful Beach House. The Eltham Family

To put it simply, we had our best holiday here. We absolutely loved the house and its location to the beach. It is a very pretty property and I loved collecting up the fallen flowers in the morning for our breakfast table. Yes, you can hear traffic but after 24 hours I wasn't aware of it. We felt very safe, slept well, drank lots of rum punch, ate very well at Il Tempio and the Lonestar and equally as well from the ladies who open up their car boots and serve food on the side of the road! We never had anyone on the beach near us and the snorkelling was superb. The house comes with everything you need-pack less! Jordan's sells a good array of food and drink-we had a lovely BBQ one night. Try cocktails at the Cliff and a catermeran cruise with Silvermoon. Both are excellent and well worth the money. We had very good conversations with Debbie before our stay and she was very helpful during. We will definitely return-it's just a case of when!

We had a wonderful family holiday at Oceans . Such a treat swimming in the Caribbean , snorkelling , saw a baby turtle most days . Realaxing on your own private seawall watching the boats go by . The veranda was spacious , complete with hammock , perfect place to read with such beautiful views to the Ocean . There was noise from the road , which is a busy road that runs all along the west coast . You soon forget about that sitting on the beautiful veranda . We all look forward to a return visit to Barbados and would love to stay at Oceans again . Debbie is the most wonderful host , lots of thoughtful extras included in the beautiful beach house . I certainly enjoyed Rosie’s home made rum punch ! Debbie very kindly showed us the rugged east coast . We felt very safe knowing our lovely host lived next door . Barbados is a beautiful island , lots to do and the Bajans very friendly . Local food wonderful from street food to fabulous restaurants . Looking forward to our next trip to Oceans . Highly recommended.

The owners were great and accommodated all of our requests. We hadn’t expected the heat and humidity of July and didn’t realize that the middle floor is open air at all times with mosquitoes/bugs able to come in and they only had standing fans. You are not able to close the windows and some doors are difficult to close easily. It wasn’t comfortable to be in that area. At night, the outside porch was the only cool place unless you were in the air conditioned bedrooms. We stayed 2 of our 13 nights that we booked due to the heat. Also not much view except the top floor. At high tide the beach was inaccessible. I would have stayed if it was a cooler time of year and we didn’t have any family with us. The bottom floor seemed stuffy and my sister in law said the bed was very uncomfortable. The reviews I read were great, with the only issue being the street noise. I really liked Debbie. She was very nice, and has some nice touches about the place. I was sorry it wasn’t a good place for us.

Laid-back lattice work luxury; Shabby Chic in the Shade; Gracious Greetings. Pick your saying about this place. You'll be happy staying here to enjoy the relaxing vibe. Overall we enjoyed our one-week stay. We travel to the island often. We like this neighborhood for its convenience to the local market and quiet beaches. The house is not right on the water but with but only one house in front of us in the compound, it might as well be. The open-air main floor has a kitchen (and plenty of needed amenities), a living area, and a wrap-around balcony. A lot of space and latitude to lounge where you please. The air conditioning in the sleeping area was divine. The internet was fast and consistent. With only two of us staying, we didn’t use the bottom floor except for the laundry. The bed, the additional sofa-futon, and the additional living area downstairs were nice to have (but in our case, ultimately just for show) The en suite shower in the master bedroom leaked so we didn’t use it during our stay. That wasn’t a big problem for us since there are 2 other full baths on the main and bottom floors. I couldn't quite figure out if there was cable or some TV service included or if it was extra but I wasn't that interested in TV anyway. Debbie is a great host. She was available when we needed her. The welcome basket was a wonderful gesture. (Yum, Rum Punch!) Also, several nice going-out options nearby. For the price, we'd stay again and even bring friends next time.

What a wonderful two weeks we had. Such a lovely house with everything you need and more. We loved everything about it, especially the hammock! Debbie and Rosie made us so welcome. The house is very comfortable we loved the wrap around balcony and Debbie has furnished and decorated the house in just the right way, suits it down to the ground. The welcome pack was great and just what you need after a long flight, no need to rush out for supplies, we just sat back and enjoyed Rosie's delicious rum punch! Having your own little beach is amazing, we had the sea turtles by our sides in the beautiful carribbean sea quite incredible. We enjoyed whizzing round the island in our little yellow mini moke - so much to explore. The house really does have every facility you could ever want. We enjoyed using the BBQ a lovely alternative to dining out everyday. The bedrooms have good A/C to keep you cool while you sleep, There is safe parking for your car which is a bonus as quite a few properties on the West Coast are unable to offer that. Debbie is nearby to help you with anything you may need but very discreet. We cannot finish this review without a special mention to Lily who is the sweetest cat and lodger you could wish for! such a character and partial to a little bit of bbq! We hope to return before too long. Thank you Debbie and family x
