"Das erhaltene Zimmer entsprach nicht der gebuchten Kategorie. Gebucht wurde ein Zimmer mit großem Wasserbett, zugeteilt wurde ein kleineres Zimmer mit 2 normalen Einzelbetten. Ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, dass meine Einwände jemanden sonderlich interessiert hätten. Das einzige Zugeständnis bestand darin, dass mir die Betten zusammengeschoben wurden. "Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. It was fine as an overnight stop. The town has a small but nice historic centre. It is however more or less dead. A few restaurants were open but do not look very appealing. Many properties are boarded up. Apparently it used to be bustling but many people left after the reunification."

We had to use Google Translate for all interactions including ordering breakfast, asking for towels, etc. Finally, the public spaces are very austere. This seems out of place with the historic hotel. For example, there are just IKEA tables and chairs in the eating area but then there is a large open foyer on the second floor with a grand piano. But there are no chairs or couches in that room. It seems with a bit of TLC this could be a great boutique hotel and cool place to hang out. This is especially true when you consider the location right across the street from the historical theatre where we attended the International Ballet Festival."
