The Gryphon, a Regency Cottage, is a completely restored historic home nestled into a large garden and natural wildlife preserve. The Gryphon is the only accommodation in Prince Edward County with five bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. There are two full kitchens, three porches, a fire pit and a large garden with a stone seating area and a yoga or art studio. There are places for gathering with friends and family, and places to escape and read a book. A video room with super high speed internet and a 12 foot screen keeps kids entertained.

Each window looks out over a field of wildflowers, a formal garden, a rural farmland, or Lake Consecon. Twelve foot ceilings and antique furniture add to the feeling of old time charm. The porch off the kitchen has a bbq and three tables for eating, cooking and relaxing. The Millennium Trail just up the road is perfect for walking and cycling. North Beach and Sandbanks provincial park are just down the road.
Prince Edward County is a mecca for artists, nature lovers and anyone looking for a getaway … for a weekend break or for life.
Renowned for its sailing, fishing and giant sand dunes, The County also offers live theatre, artists studios and galleries, unique regional cuisine and a flourishing wine region.

Great stay. So much character.
Had a great stay at The Gryphon. This cottage has a fascinating history and is full of character. Thoroughly enjoyed exploring the space. Very relaxing environment. Would definitely come back. Host is wonderful to deal with.

A taste of Ontario history
It was a real treat to stay in this lovingly and authentically restored Ontario home. It had beautiful gardens and the house had fantastic sight lines and beautiful light flooding in throughout the day. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The location is great and wonderful staging point to enjoy Prince Edward County.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property! The house was much bigger than we anticipated. Close to many outdoor activities and nice that so much recreational gear was provided. Place was clean, organized and instructions upon check in and check out were clear. Owner was a 5 star pleasure to deal with!

Très grande maison qui a pu accommoder toute la famille. Bien situé près de Sandbanks et des vignobles, dans le comté de Prince-Édouard. La propriétaire répondait bien à mes questions à mesure. Beaucoup de saleté dans cette maison très mal entretenue: armoires, cuisine, vaisselle, rideaux, fenêtres, sofas, poubelles,: tout serait à nettoyer de fond en comble.

Much needed getaway!
I went there with my friends and family in the month of June and we had a great time. The cottage is at a great location (near to sandbanks and north beach and bunch of wineries and whiskey distillery). There is also a trail very close to it. The whole cottage is tastefully decorated with antique furniture and show pieces. The cottage itself has an incredible history. The rooms were very clean and had nice decorum. Don't forget to speak to the host, she is wonderful lady and has some great recommendations to share. Kids had a great time too. There were lot of board games and video library to explore. All in all, it's a great place to getaway with you friends and family.
