The house was a very practical base for exploring the MD Eastern Shore. It is a comfortable house with an idyllic setting beside the water and with shade trees that do not obscure the view but do provide shade at the water’s edge. Plenty of windows from the kitchen/dining room, downstairs living room, and table tennis room open up the water views. The setting is relatively quiet, just a little background noise from a distant bridge, and we saw Great Blue Heron’s and Canadian Geese in the water. Being only 10-15 minutes from Easton was quite a convenience for restaurants and groceries etc.
We stayed while visiting family in the area. There was plenty of room for our family (two adults, two young children). We enjoyed the views and Tina (manager) was really easy to work with. Have already talked about staying again during our next trip.
We had a great time here. Loved the peace and quiet at this beautiful on the river location. The home was well set up with everything we needed and Tina was very welcoming and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will return!
Easy to get in and out of property. Spacious area for families to eat, play and sleep. We had a great time enjoying the view and kayaking on the river. Dogs are allowed, but lots of rules. Some very common sense things, to keep dogs out while wet. We had a great vacation
We had a nice stay at this house. The weather was beautiful and we were able to take the kayaks out to explore. One slightly odd thing…pets are allowed but not in kitchen. This took me by surprise. It all worked fine in end.
This house is on a creek off the choptank river and daily we saw eagles, geese and ducks. Also heard owls. Took the kayaks out a couple of times. Very scenic place and a great home base for day trips to Easton, st michaels, Cambridge and more. If bringing a dog I’d check on the pet policy before renting as it’s very restrictive, especially for the high pet fee that’s charged.
We had a quiet, peaceful, relaxing time. We enjoyed watching the Eagles, Osprey and Hurons. We even came home one evening to find a turtle laying her eggs in the driveway! The home was very clean and comfortable; we had ample room in the home and had all the amenities we needed. Tina was a gem to work with and answered my texts promptly. If we choose to visit the Eastern Shore area again, we will rent the home again.
We try to make visiting family in Easton, MD an annual event (except during COVID-19) and have stayed at a variety of vacation rentals as haven’t found quite the right spot, until this year. Little Creek Hidaway way the perfect spot for our family reunion! It’s private and has plenty of both indoor and outdoor room for family activities and fun!! Plus you have a quiet adult re-treat upstairs- bedroom, bathroom, and complete living area if you need a little quiet time away from all the fun downstairs and outside. We loved taking the kayaks down to the Choptank River and fishing off the dock. Tina, the owner, will greet you upon arrival and show you all the cool features of the property. It’s a great find!! We will definitely put it at the top of the list when finding a place for next year and beyond.
Everything was good...old, but clean, and the house had absolutely everything that we needed for our stay. Upstairs, however, had a large amount of houseflies that we kept killing, but there were always more. We think that they might have been coming in around the window ac units.
We enjoyed our stay very much - a very quiet and relaxing place and setting. We had a few little glitches when we first arrived, due to the Nor'easter that had gone through the day before we arrived. However, we called the property manager, Tina, and she was able to fix us right up! She was wonderful!! Our suggestion would be that if visitors have any issues - call Tina!! She's the best! The house was sparkling clean. We enjoyed the kayaks. The ping pong table was an added bonus. The beds were very comfortable. The layout is spacious. Everything looked new and fresh. We will definitely rent again if we go back to this area.
The property was lovely. An added benefit for us was the wonderful dog park that was fenced in on the property. The park is huge and Rocky loved it. The house was fantastic -- we used the layout as units--Parents upstairs and daughter and grandson downstairs. Tina was fun to work with on finding crabs, restaurants, etc. Thank you Tina
Beautiful spacious home , lakefront property, daily kayaking made everyone happy! Tina was a pleasure to meet! All the museums and hikes were just a quick drive away. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a great stay at Little Creek Hideaway. The property is as described, and the location can't be beat. The house is very secluded in a beautiful area. We spent so much time outdoors - kayaking, paddle boarding, dining in the screened in gazebo and relaxing by the water watching osprey and bald eagles every day. There were a few things that we needed to contact the property manager about during our stay, and she was always incredibly responsive. The ping pong table was a huge hit too!
The appliances were a pleasant surprise. The washer and dryer are huge. The fridge was sufficiently cold, and there were ice cubes!
Having linens provided saved us space when packing. Other niceties that are often forgotten - toilet paper, tissues, dish soap, etc. - were graciously provided and appreciated.
The upstairs suite is a great adult space for those with kids. That bathroom has a unique soaking tub, where I enjoyed reading one of the books I found on the shelves.
Comcast cable and internet is provided, which is what we have at home, so there was no old-geezer learning curve for satellite services.
We've vacationed on the Eastern Shore for 25 years, and this is the best property we've ever found for our needs: two adults, two dogs.
The dog enclosure is larger than it appears, providing ample space for play. It was much like what we have at home, so the dogs quickly understood where we were going when we left the garage.
We took a dog crate but didn't need it. There is a non-carpeted room that is perfect for leaving your dogs when you go places where they can't accompany you.
Our newest rescue is reactive to life. She barks at everything. We marveled at our luck in finding Little Creek Hideaway, which was perfect in every way for our dogs.
Finally , a word about Tina, the property manager. She was available both times we needed assistance. When I made suggestions of a few kitchen items that would have been nice to have, she responded immediately. If you need something or have any questions during your stay, don't hesitate to contact her.
Our 4-day stay was good. Comfortable beds, homey living room, well-stocked kitchen, lovely river view, especially from the screened-in gazebo. Birds galore.
