Praia dos Castros

This is a really beautiful place! You feel like you're in the country and yet only about 15 minutes or so drive to Santiago de Compostela. But the best part was how gracious, friendly, and helpful our hosts, Julia and Julio were! Just a precaution if you have a mid to large size car, parking is really tight, but driving around the area, that seems to be the norm so definitely don't let that deter you from staying at this beautiful place!

This apartment was such a god send after 4 days of hiking the camino and in 35 degree weather as well. We booked the day before because we absolutely wanted a place with air conditioning and this place was perfect!! The staff was also incredibly accommodating by letting us check in 2 hours early so we could get out of the midday sun and temperatures, which we are incredibly thankful for. The room was perfectly clean and came with little snacks, tea, and water, which was very thoughtful. The beds were very comfortable (especially after staying in hostels/albergues) and it was super convenient not to need a travel adapter for the outlet since they have USB and USB-C ports for you to directly use. Do be warned, it is a little small but there’s enough room for bags/luggage and for you to walk around and that’s all you need for a stay that is otherwise perfect!

My sister and I had a lovely stay at Lar da Mota. The place is cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The staff was very kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Thank you for such a warm experience!
