Excellent hotel near town center.

Posted 09-Jan-2017
Pros: Comfort. Courteous staff. Location. Ambiance.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Short walking distance to Old Town, Charles Bridge, and shopping mall.
Exceptional hotel. Highly recommend. From the superb, knowledgeable staff, excellent dining and ambiance, fabulous room, to the convenience of short walking distance to town, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Food was superb. Shopping mall close by.

Great hotel

This was a great hotel. Walkable to everything in old town, but not in the middle of the crowds, and just down the street from Palladium mall. Very friendly staff.

Grand but friendly.

Posted 06-Jan-2017
Pros: Fascinating period decor; authentic feeling of the Art Deco era. The restaurant is spectacular with its high mosaic ceiling, columns and the ceramic
Location: Old quarter is lovely to walk around: Old Town Square, Astronomical clock, Jewish quarter, museums. Not too far to river, Charles Bridge, castle etc.
Grand but friendly hotel with great location in the old quarter; easy walk to many of the sights. Trams nearby. The old quarter is lovely to walk around, e.g. Old Town Square, Astronomical clock, Jewish quarter, museums, art galleries, traditional shops. Not too far to the river, Charles Bridge, castle and St Vitus cathedral. Or to Wenceslas square for its historical connections and many modern stores. Wonderful variety of music venues, especially classical. Small venues you can book on the day; the opera may need to be booked well ahead. Our visit was in December - cold but often sunny; the mulled wine and hot chocolate from street vendors were very welcome and the Christmas markets are good. Prices were very reasonable even though Sterling was down at the time.

Absolutely lovely hotel with original art deco

Posted 03-Jan-2017
Pros: The way the staff combined professionalism with warmth - the food - the decor but not necessarily in that order.
Cons: Not a lot
Location: There are so many concerts and shows for all tastes that the only drawback is not having enough time to do more. The musical standard - high!
The staff were very welcoming and worked hard to meet any and every request for help or service. The decor and ambience were great, especially for the art deco fans. Food - very good, especially the New Year's eve feast. Location really good. Only a 5 minute walk to the splendid City Hall and Hibernia theatre. 20 minutes max to the Town Square and a little more to the Charles Bridge. The only way to improve on this experience is to repeat it!
