This is one of those properties you hesitate to give a great review- only because you don’t want it to become so popular that you can’t get a reservation. But, I want the staff to prosper so I will tell you that it’s beyond amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt so relaxed. And, that was after a red eye from Boston. The property is incredibly beautiful - the gardens, the outdoor restaurant (with live music), the thermal springs, the spa. Every detail was perfect! So clean, too! And, the staff was always accommodating and helpful. Great location for exploring Sao Miguel. Amazing breakfast! Easy parking. 10 out of 10! We will definitely be back soon!

Terra Nostra Garden Hotel is located on the absolutely stunning Terra Nostra Park. Guests have this park to themselves before the park opens and after it closes. That is what made our stay so magical. The terrace that overlooks the park was beautiful and in the evening the live music was lovely. We had amazing pina colada drinks and burgers there and they were amazing. However, the breakfast buffet was underwhelming. The cozido lunch that is supposed to be one of the best in Furnas was dry and overcooked. for what we paid to stay there per night, the service at the hotel was not what I expected. Worse, some of the breakfast and lunch staff were borderline rude. For what we paid per night, that is unacceptable.

Fantastic relaxing vacation. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurant options and stores within a very short walk. Food and beverages fairly pricey at the hotel but delicious. Would highly recommend!!

This property was exceptional. The grounds were stunning - there’s a reason this place is a tourist destination. We felt incredibly lucky to actually be staying here. The wonder and atmosphere of the thermal pools cannot be overstated. At night, in the warmth of the pool, if the mist isn’t too heavy, the star-gazing is fantastic. I traveled there with my 12-year-old daughter and the staff gave us an adult- and a petite, child-sized robe. She was thrilled! After a day of canyoning, coming back to the thermal pools in the evening was a perfect way to relax. The restaurant was very good - beautiful presentation. It was expensive and chic. I gave 4 stars for the staff category only because of the restaurant. I was there as a mother alone with her child to make memories and enjoy a beautiful trip. Four of the six times we ate in the restaurant, we were seated facing a wall, behind a column, or otherwise hidden from the main dining area. We felt unwelcome and unable to enjoy the full experience of our very expensive stay. I was at the point where I was planning to ask to speak with the restaurant manager when the next time we visited, we were seated centrally. This was for breakfast by a mature woman whose smile reached her eyes. The older man who seated us for our first dinner there just barely hid that he rolled his eyes when he saw that we were his “party of two.” Aside from the unpleasant dining experience, we loved Terra Nostra. Tina, the Night Manager was an angel, so kind!

Het park, de baden en het vriendelijke personeel maken het verschil. We verbleven hier drie nachten. Minder positief was dat er bij het ontbijt extra betaald moest worden voor oa pannenkoeken en eggs benedict. Bij een hotel met dit forse prijskaartje verwachten we vijf sterren service. Ander nadeel: in onze kamers 134 en 135 hoorden we ‘s nachts een lage bromtoon, waardoor we niet zo goed sliepen.

Breakfast offerings were excellent but the staff doesn’t clear dirty dishes for the most part. They wait til you leave to clear the dishes. Bed & sheets are comfortable. Garden is a nice walk. Pool & jacuzzis are best used outside of the public hours. Parking lot for overflow is gravel & shoes get dirty if it rained. Not sure why the hotel doesn’t spend the $ to pave it. Swimming pool room was a sauna! Couldn’t even go into the pool because you could barely breathe the air was soooo humid & hot! Tina at front desk addressed my concerns about the street noise. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Terra Nostra! Staff were incredible, so nice and accommodating. We had a delicious dinner at TN restaurant. The breakfast buffet was included with the stay and was amazing, you could also order omelets, lattes and GF pastries. After 5pm the hot springs are only for hotel guests and we took advantage of that every night! The attached gardens were amazing and we took many long walks admiring the beauty. You can also walk right outside of the hotel into town and find shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here!

Tolle Lage am Terra Nostra Park. Tagsüber ist dieser sehr gut besucht. Der Vorteil vom Hotel ist, dass die Hotelgäste während 24 Stunden Zugang zum Park haben.

Amazing place to stay in Furnas!!! After hours "exclusive" access to two main attractions on the island - thermal pool and botanical garden - is something no other place can compete with. In addition it is a beautiful, high-end artdeco hotel in immaculate condition and great staff. Great restaurants on premises, though places in town are great too - much cheaper and way more authentic.

Great breakfast buffet. Clean and comfortable rooms with special bath robes and towels provided daily for the thermal baths. Amazing to go before 10:30am and after 4:30pm when it’s only for the hotel guests. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Staff was very helpful.
